The contact stated that while driving on the highway at approximately 40 mph the vehicles dashboard displayed various warning lights such as check engine, abs display, brake light. The contact proceeded to pull over on the side of the road. The contact stated that they turned their vehicle off for a couple of minutes and upon restarting the vehicle the transmission would no longer shift into gear. The contact had to have their vehicle towed to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed. The contact was advised that his vehicle was not covered under warranty due to third party damage to the rear brake cable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 24,000.
