At speed on interstate highway, the car suddenly fell out of gear, and lost speed rapidly. Dash transmission display showed scrambled gear in place of d. Car continues to experience similar incidents and does not properly change gears; occasionally displays scrambled letter in place of appropriate display (r,n,d, 3, etc. ).

The contact stated it would take five to ten minutes for the vehicle to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was advised to contact the manufacturer for the diagnostic testing results. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
Battery indicator and brake indicator illuminated on the cluster panel. When in drive, the display showing what gear you are in flashes an unrecognizable signal. Some trouble accelerating.
Transmission range sensor is failing and caused a loss of power almost causing a major accident. This is a common problem with this model year, and needs to be investigated for a safety recall.
I was driven when the right side headlight was stoped.
When trying to shift from park to reverse the vehicle jumped and would not accelerate out of drive. When trying to accelerate forward it took a massive amount of power to go 10 mph. The vehicle will not shift properly and the check engine light will not stay on while the problem is occurring.
At first the key would not come out of the ignition and now I am having trouble with the key either going into the ignition or coming out of the ignition. With all of the life's that have been lost due to the ignition problems in other vehicle's, this has concerned me greatly. Please respond quickly.
My engine died while driving. My battery (which was replaced 7 months prior) also died. When I tried to get a jump start, the engine would run for a few moments before dying again. I had the vehicle toed to a lot and haven't been able to afford repairs, so I had it scrapped.
I replaced my transmission range sensor in October 2013 and 4 months later it won't go in reverse. The car does not want to go back. The sensor goes bad really quick and it keeps you paying money to get it fix. The check engine light stays on and he airbag light. I have replaced it twice in 2012 and 2013. There needs to be a recall for this and don't know why it has not happen before someone get seriously hurt. Suzuki please fix this problem.
Air conditioning unit shut off, car ran erractically and engine light came on. After several minutes, car ran normally and air conditioner came back on. Engine light stayed on. Since then engine light will go off for several days and come back on for several days. Mechanic checked engine and found that the problem was with the throttle sensor.
I was driving my Suzuki Forenza when it went from "drive" to basically neutral. I was driving on the interstate and was almost hit from behind because my car stalled. This has happened multiple times since and each time I've been lucky enough not to be hit. This is a seriously dangerous issue because it happens mid drive.
The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled with the illumination of the check engine warning light. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician stated that the throttle body actuator would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
While in drive car suddenly switches to idle and will not accelerate with the pressing of gas peddle. It was only able to coast. The range selector part is the issue. It cannot function repeatedly since this is a reoccuring event. The only way to drive is in drive 3rd gear with the engine light on. The great concern is that will lead to an accident since the time of it ceasing to function is unpredicatable. From research it is clear that this is a nearly universal problem with Suzuki Forenzas and as a safety issue it needs to be a part properly replaced under a recall by dealers.
My transmission range sensor has failed for the third time in as many years. Each time I have it repaired by the dealership. This malfunction causes the vehicle to spontaneously throw itself in to neutral or reverse either while driving or when vehicle is at a complete stop. While driving my car suddenly jerked very hard then slowed to an almost complete stop causing the car behind me to slam on its brakes and hit my bumper. I stopped, restarted the engine and then was not able to accelerate past 15mph even with my foot firmly on the gas pedal. Like I said before, this is the 3rd time this has failed and I am glad that the person who was behind me stopped quickly and only tapped my bumper. This has also happened at higher speeds and is just an accident waiting to happen. Suzuki needs to do a major recall!! I don't understatnd how so many people are having the same problem yet it is not being investigated!.
My check engine light came on. I went to auto zone and was told it was the transmission sensor. After some research, we discovered this problem runs rampant on 2006 Suzuki Forenza models. We took it to the dealership and the manager over parts and service changed the sensor for us. However, the connector it plugs into was broken and he would look for a used one, as buying a new one means buying a whole new engine harness ($800-$900). Anytime I look up my make and model this is all anyone has to say and Suzuki will do nothing about it except charge more money to keep trying to fix it. They should be forced to recall all of these vehicles until the problem is resolved.
Slips out of gear while driving, car stalls and cuts off during driving, only cranks up in neutral, air bag light stays on, check engine light go off after a repair then lights back up. Its frustrating to have to call road side assistance for a battery charge frequently when battery loses charge for no apparent reason.
The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. While driving at approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, which resumed normal operation. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,040.
Accelerating up a hill, the check engine light came on solid (not flashing) and the "d" on the dash display where "drive" is signaled was flashing an incomprehensible icon that was not found in the owner's manual (looked like a square with two slashes through it. ) the new transmission signal would flash for 10-15 miles or so starting during acceleration. The part that the dealership replaced was a "transmission range switch. ".
Driving down interstate had smell coming from the dash like melting wires. Dash high/low beams stopped working, luckily daytime running worked but not good enough to see well at night periodically they will come back on for a few then cut back off. Most often they do not come back on at all and doesn't stay on long. . Afraid of fire or if working going out while driving and wrecking with my kids in the car. We purchased this car last year from a used car dealership and it was fixed under the recall or 07 in Jan 2008, called dealerships and Suzuki and they are telling me even though there is a new recall out for the same thing. . For 2004-2006 Forenzas manufactured between the dates of sept 2003 and March 2006 that my car that was manufactured 11/2005 doesn't fall under the recall? just need to know what to do since its obviously a manufacturer defect. Or if maybe some information was crossed and hopefully ours can be fixed under the recall .
I have a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. Often when I put the car into gear, it "clunks. " then when I am driving down the road, no matter what the speed, the car shifts itself into neutral. I can drive if I put it into 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear after it shifts into neutral. After several minutes or later in the day I can get the car into drive again, but the problem repeats itself daily.
I have a 2006 susuk Forenza, and it also is having all the problems everyone else is talking about. My car has about 47,000 miles. It started withthe engine light coming on and off at random times and then my car would barely go when I pressed the gas pedal. I still can push the pedal all the way to the floor and it will govery slow and my car engine sounds soooo loud. Recently I put my car in reverse and then it jerked back and when I put it k into drive it jerked forward and didnt want to go even tho it was in drive, then on the odometer it had a box with a line going through it and a line going across as it was flashing. Sometime I will not have problems with my car and then I will do it for days. How do you fix this? this car is dangerous and should be recalled!! I have 2 toddlers that drive in my car with me everyday and this is very inacceptable!! will be getting a new car as soon as I can.
Transmission range sensor failure.
My 2006 Suzuki Forenza looses acceleration while driving; simply put the gas pedal doesn't work. While driving on the highway at speed, and with out cruize control, I will let up on the accelerator and when the accelerator is pressed in again I have no acceleration. This type of incident has occured numberous times on the highway; even while attempting to pass a vehicle. This is very concerning because I feel I might be run over by a vehicle behind me if I loose acceleration. The vehicle has a tendancy to lunge forward while stopped due to this malfunction of the throttle body. The car is not safe to drive anywhere with the possiblity that it will not accelerate properly or lunge forward into a car at a stop light. I have contacted Suzuki and they tell me it is not a malfunction and will not honor their 7yr; 70,000 mile warranty. I have had several trips to the mechanic to try to fix the problem; and we have worked our way through everything down to the very expensive throttle body. I went to a dealership and all they did was clear the codes; 10 miles down the road the car started doing the same thing all over again. I would like this fixed before there is a sever accident because I'm driving a defective vehicle.
Range sensor is defective. This is a known latent failure that is not covered after 36,000 miles. The dealership informed me that the part, although part of the main engine, is a known failure and that the replacement was a $55 part. The main dealership in huntsville has replaced over 1000 range sensors when my car was repaired in October.
My dome light went out, then my stereo went out and finally my low beams keep flickering and not working properly.
Two years and 29k miles after I drove my brand Forenza off the lot I was on the highway at the beginning of a road trip when my sensor first went out. I had to turn around, take it to the dealership an get it replace. Now I am at almost 90k running into the same issue and will have to replace the sensor again at a cost of abou $250. Quite a few highway miles, not alot of city miles not confident in making Suzuki a new car choice again.
When I first brought the car on 1/30/2006, it started giving me problems, such as not starting up, the engine light on and off all the time. The emergency brake light on constantly. The power windows rolling up and down by themselves. The power locks stop working and then work over and over again. When I'm driving, the car jerks and pulls all the time. (the pulling is coming from the transmission). I am a single mother of two and I feel real bad about getting stuck with a lemon. After I get out of school I take classes at night and my kids go to the daycare on campus when I picked them up after class, got in the car, started it up, and the front two windows rolled down by themselves, and would not roll up and it was snowing and we had to ride all the way home like that. The dealership doesn't care. As far as they are concerned, it is not their problem. It is a messed up world we live in where someone knows that you really need a car and they screw you with a lemon. Until this present day, all these problems described still exist but so do me and my son-3 and my daughter-6 if anybody can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Air conditioner will not maintain forced air after two hours of use on warm or hot days. Must turn off conditioned air for about an hour to let the system rest. This is very annoying while traveling long distances with children in the back seats.
2006 Suzuki Forenza with trouble cranking. Customer states that his vehicle has trouble starting and feels a big nudge in the rear when changing gears from reverse to drive or drive to reverse.
I face the heat engine and electrical problems like the other Suzuki cars of similar models driving in the highway.
