36 Electrical System problem of the 2005 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 09/20/2014

Gears started shifting on their own, and at times did not shift at all. . . Thank god I was already arriving home when it suddenly jumped into park, bringing the car to a screeching halt, at this point I was already slowing down to get into the driveway. This happened after I had a 1hrs drive on a highway, it would have been a huge accident if this would have happened while on the road. Since this happened, I did my research online and found out this is a very common problem with this vehicle. The bad part is the transmission range sensor. I since then had the car inspected by a mechanic and read the codes p0700 and p0705 that is for that part.

38 Electrical System problem of the 2008 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 08/25/2014

My headlights all of a sudden stayed on even after the car had been turned off, and I felt a lot of heat coming from underneath the steering wheel on the left side; there was a small relay or module so hot you couldn't even touch it; I had to the the headlights fuse off and let it cool down. I proceeded to take the module off and unplug it, did some research and found out that there was a recall on this module called the dlr module. I contacted the dealer but even though they have the part in stock to fix and replace this module, they refused to take care of it, saying that they still didn't have the part to fix this issue and I would be contacted by mail when they did. They're willing to sell you the part but they won't replace it. They just don't want to take responsibility! I asked to have someone from customer service call me, but they haven't. I was lucky to find the root of the problem in time, otherwise it would had caught on fire. This issue needs to be addressed immediately. Please help.

41 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 08/07/2014

This is the 2nd recall on the drl module in 2 years. I have had to replace my battery terminals on the car. The headlights won't turn off unless I unhook the battery. The recall got started in may 2014, the recall was mailed out in July 2014 and the recall is being done while Suzuki does not have the parts. The car company will take for ever to get the parts. I called Suzuki and was told that if my car catches on fire it is not their concern. In the meantime I have no other way to work. I can not register the car, can not do the inspection, can not drive it. This is such a hardship for a lot of people. Suzuki says that they will put you through to their corporate office, but that is a big joke. Is it any wonder why they have not sold new vehicles in the us since 2012. I just want my car fixed and Suzuki will take care of all the electrical wrongs on my car. If enough people conplain something will get done.

45 Electrical System problem of the 2008 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 07/22/2014

We were sent a safety recall notice dated 7/22/2014 stating there is a defect relating to abnormal operation of the high and/or low beam headlamps and the daytime running lamps. The notification states "recall service parts are not yet available to correct this condition. Providing repair parts is a top priority, however, their availability is not known at this time. Vehicle owners will be notified by mail when repair parts are available and scheduling appointments can then begin". It has been nearly one full year and no further communication from Suzuki motor of America, inc. Has been received. In the meantime we are forced to operate a vehicle with "an increased risk of fire" and with the possibility that someone may not be able to properly see the vehicle due to the malfunctioning headlights. Millions of cars have been made with properly functioning headlights and daytime running lamps, this cannot possibly be that difficult of a repair to quickly engineer and implement. Is this unnecessary delay due to the fact that Suzuki no longer sells vehicles in the u. S. And therefore no longer thinks it has the obligation to fulfill recall requirements?? any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

58 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 09/18/2013

Was driving and transmission range sensor went bad and car jumped out of gear no warning. Traffic behind almost collided. My 4 year old was in back seat. Very scary. Called Suzuki and they said this is an extremely common problem considering my make, model, mileage. So why am I, a single disabled mother, responsible for getting a well known, unsafe manufacturer issue repaired. . . . . I can't afford this and from what I was told most people with similar issue had this problem not only once but few months after getting repair done. This is extremely unsafe! car shifting and stalling while at full speed! me and my son could have been seriously hurt! planning to call Suzuki customer relations to see if they can fix issue because it is not fair that I have to come up with way to repair such a dangerous problem so many Suzuki owners have experienced.

59 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 08/28/2013

I was driving my Suzuki Forenza when it went from "drive" to basically neutral. I was driving on the interstate and was almost hit from behind because my car stalled. This has happened multiple times since and each time I've been lucky enough not to be hit. This is a seriously dangerous issue because it happens mid drive.

60 Electrical System problem of the 2008 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 07/01/2013

Every time I change gears, my car thunks under the hood and my check engine light is continuously on. A machine was hooked up to my car and it reads that there is a bad transmission range sensor. I've done my research, and notice an unbelievable amount of complaints due to the same issue/part. When this happens in my vehicle, it drives very poorly and feels like it cannot shift into the correct gear. This is unsafe.

64 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 04/27/2013

When turning my car on and putting it into reverse, the car suddenly jerked and the check engine light came on. The "r" should appear for reverse on the dash, but all the letters ("p", "r", "d", etc) were scrambled together. The car drove in reverse and when I put it into drive, it jerked again and then would hardly accelerate. After driving it for a couple minutes, turning it off, and turning it back on, it would finally accelerate normally, but the check engine light would still be on and the gears would still jerk. The check engine light would go off after a few days and everything would be fine, but still the same problem happens again in a short term.

65 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 03/23/2013

While in drive car suddenly switches to idle and will not accelerate with the pressing of gas peddle. It was only able to coast. The range selector part is the issue. It cannot function repeatedly since this is a reoccuring event. The only way to drive is in drive 3rd gear with the engine light on. The great concern is that will lead to an accident since the time of it ceasing to function is unpredicatable. From research it is clear that this is a nearly universal problem with Suzuki Forenzas and as a safety issue it needs to be a part properly replaced under a recall by dealers.

66 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 03/22/2013

My transmission range sensor has failed for the third time in as many years. Each time I have it repaired by the dealership. This malfunction causes the vehicle to spontaneously throw itself in to neutral or reverse either while driving or when vehicle is at a complete stop. While driving my car suddenly jerked very hard then slowed to an almost complete stop causing the car behind me to slam on its brakes and hit my bumper. I stopped, restarted the engine and then was not able to accelerate past 15mph even with my foot firmly on the gas pedal. Like I said before, this is the 3rd time this has failed and I am glad that the person who was behind me stopped quickly and only tapped my bumper. This has also happened at higher speeds and is just an accident waiting to happen. Suzuki needs to do a major recall!! I don't understatnd how so many people are having the same problem yet it is not being investigated!.

68 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 01/31/2013

My check engine light came on. I went to auto zone and was told it was the transmission sensor. After some research, we discovered this problem runs rampant on 2006 Suzuki Forenza models. We took it to the dealership and the manager over parts and service changed the sensor for us. However, the connector it plugs into was broken and he would look for a used one, as buying a new one means buying a whole new engine harness ($800-$900). Anytime I look up my make and model this is all anyone has to say and Suzuki will do nothing about it except charge more money to keep trying to fix it. They should be forced to recall all of these vehicles until the problem is resolved.

69 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Suzuki Forenza

Failure Date: 11/14/2012

Slips out of gear while driving, car stalls and cuts off during driving, only cranks up in neutral, air bag light stays on, check engine light go off after a repair then lights back up. Its frustrating to have to call road side assistance for a battery charge frequently when battery loses charge for no apparent reason.
