Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problems of the 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Two problems related to front suspension wheel bearing have been reported for the 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2001

Left front wheel fell off at 70 mph. Dealer admits defective wheel bearing. Accepts no liability since it's over 36,000 mile warranty. Tire was still attached when I last saw the wheel. Wheel was never recovered.

2 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem

While driving the vehicle started making a rattling noise. Upon inspection of the vehicle by the dealership they indicated that the noise was due to the tensioner going bad. The hub bearing and senor also went bad and needed to be replaced at 40,000 miles. Please provide any additional information.
