The passenger airbag light came on and stayed on even when no one was sitting in the seat. Therefore, we returned the vehicle to the Suzuki dealer. The dealer stated it would cost over $2,000 to repair the electronic switch for the passenger airbag. However, we were informed that we could continue to operate the vehicle, but to note that the passenger air bag may or may not deploy in an accident. We fell this is a safety related issue, and the cost for repair is so prohibitive. We feel that the manufacturer should be responsible for such repair. Questions: has this similar problem been reported from other car manufacturers? if so, who was responsible for the repair? or is this the first time this type of issue has surfaced?.
