Mr. Emanuel lopez told me that he just have to order the pulley because he don't know anything about the part for the air condition. Can you help me? what can I do to see if they replace it? The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. The contact heard a knocking noise in the engine. While performing an oil change, the mechanic noticed that the tensioner pulley was cracked. The manufacturer recognized this issue and replaced the tensioner pulleys from plastic to metal on all models after 2006. I did , and I called : only to be totally disrespected by the district manager ( paul eisenberg 1-678-641 2847) , he really didn't like the fact that I got his phone number and told me so ; I hope he likes it now! the service department where we bought this vehicle has really not shown any concern about my family having problems with this vehicle either so I'm telling everyone that donald craig Suzuki in mooresville , nc could care less about your problems after you buy a car from them and their service department is even worse. Their service manager hasn't bothered to even contact me even after a complaint to the district manager ( who's a real jerk) and a complaint to Suzuki's corporate headquarters. I hope that noone else gets mixed up[ with this group but if you do or have please give them a call and voice your complaint : I'm sure they would love to here from you!.

The timing tensioner failed, causing the timing chain to malfunction. This caused damage to the left three cylinders. There was a loss of proper timing, and valves tensioners started to knock.

While driving engine made loud rattling noise and failed. . Aaa called to tow vehicle. Upon inspection by independent mechanic determined timing chain failed. Was mentioned that this was a common failure with this particular vehicle.

While driving 65 mph consumer heard a noise coming from the vehicle. Consumer pulled over and inspected the vehicle. Then, vehicle stalled. Consumer tried to restart vehicle, but was unable to do so. Vehicle was towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the timing chain needed to be replaced.

While driving the vehicle started making a rattling noise. Upon inspection of the vehicle by the dealership they indicated that the noise was due to the tensioner going bad. The hub bearing and senor also went bad and needed to be replaced at 40,000 miles. Please provide any additional information.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer at 30,000 miles because of a "clicking noise" coming from the engine. The dealer stated there was no problem with the engine. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who found a problem with the tension on the timing chain. The part was on back order.
