The radio unit provides the view of the rear camera. When the radio fails there is no back up camera. Apparently there is a power defect in the radio system so it will not function and therefore no rear camera function.

The car has low mileage. First the air conditioning system went out. We called Suzuki to see if there was a recall, they said no. We had to search for a part and finally had it replaced at great cost. Now a few months latter this happens. The passanger air bag light has been on for about 2 weeks. Called Toyota dealer. He said it is probably just a bad msg, happens in hawaii all the time, so we continued driving it. While driving the car on Jan 6, on the other side of the island of hawaii, as we turned left onto the main highway hear oceanview, all the dash lights came on. The car lost power steering but we were able to get it to a safe place. We could not shut the engine off until about 30 minutes later. We had the car towed to the dealer. While they were testing the car, it stopped in the middle of testing and they couldn't restart it. It had 12 - 15 codes that they had to clear. The air bag light came back and could not be cleared. Now one week later the car is still not fixed as there are no "air bag control modules" available in hawaii. It will take 2-4 weeks to get one. We are having to pay for a rental car. We only have 37,000 miles!.

The car has on numerous occasions while traveling at highway cruising speed on a sunny day will go into a failsafe mode, and no error is detected by the car, loses the ability to downshift, and loses acceleration. Has become a reoccurring issue on all long trips as the car must be on the road over an hour before the instance will occur. Almost always when in the middle of nowhere which causes driver to have to pull over and wait for the car to cool before the car will allow itself or the driver to downshift even in automatic or manu-matic configuration. Please issue the same recall for the 2010 that you did for the 2013. I have a video of the instance occurring if needed.
2010 Suzuki Kizashi has electrical issues with the headlights, turn lights, and rear brake lights, reverse lights, and daytime running lights. Bulbs burn out consistently within 6 months and must be repaired too often.
I got my Kizashi in 2012 and have already had to replace the battery twice. I took it to a shop to have looked at and they can't find any reason it keeps being drained the way it has been. I don't know how to fix this.

Headlight bulbs burn out much too often. Since 2010, I have taken the car into the dealer eleven times to replace one or several burned out light bulbs. On one occasion all four primary bulbs burned out at one time. I have receipts of every visit. During the last change on 12/2/15 the dealer informs me that Suzuki would no longer cover the bulb replacement and labor . The bumper needs to be removed to replace bulbs, so this is not a cheap exercise, not to mention the safety problems of bulbs burning out so often.
I purchased this vehicle about a year ago. December of 2014 one of my low beam headlights burnt out. Followed by the second burning out a couple of days later. Now I went to a trade school for auto mechanics and know how to replace headlight bulbs as I have done it plenty of times on other vehicles. After replacing both bulbs with oem replacements they worked fine, no issues, just it was a pain in this vehicle to change. After about 2 months one went out again. They were replaced again with higher quality/rated bulbs. Again after about 2 months same issue. I have gone on Suzuki forums and done my research on this issue and have seen many consumers with the same problem. Wondering why this is not a recall since its a sever safety issue while driving at night time. Making it extremely difficult to see pedestrians, animals ect. Please help resolve this issue.
On August 11, 2014 my vehicle caught fire while I was driving home from work. I had to pull over around the corner from my job because I smelled smoke and saw smoke in my car. I pulled over a local firestone mechanic shop. I opened up my console because most of the smoke was coming from the console, and when I opened the console I saw fire. I rushed inside the firestone to get help. The mechanics at the firestone use a fire extinguisher , and the fire department was called. The fire also started up again underneath my cup holder in the car, and after this happened the battery was disconnected. The fire department said the fire appeared to have started as a result of an electrical problem with the ac power plug. I did not have anything plugged in the cigarette lighter, so how the fire started and why I do not know. I'm very concerned about my safety and the vehicle. I also filled a claim with Suzuki corporation, and they had an inspector come out to inspect the car. The inspector is unable to determined what caused the fire in the car.

My headlights have gone out either one or sometimes both. Either low beam or day lights. All dealership does is replace the bulb but not fix the problem. This has happened more than a handful of times since 2012. This is frustrating and I hate this car. It sounds to me like an electrical issue but they can't find anything wrong with it.
The display including speedometer, tachometer, blinker, multifunction display shut down. This failure occurred within a month from purchase of the brand new Suzuki Kizashi 2010.
