The contact owns a 2004 Suzuki Verona. The contact stated that the headlights would intermittently fail. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v262000 (exterior lighting) and contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer was under liquidation and was not able to honor the recall repair at a local dealer due to a lack of dealers in the contact's state. The closest dealer to the contact was over 120 miles from his residence. The contact was not comfortable driving the vehicle that far due to the potential risk of a fire erupting in the vehicle from the headlight failure. The manufacturer advised the contact that if he wanted the vehicle repaired, he would have to pay for the recall repair himself. The failure mileage was 74,000.
