This issue pertains to safety recall notice no. Xc - all 2004-2006 Suzuki Verona vehicles - drl system. Please note, the vehicle manufacturer provided documentation service was performed and the drl module (part 38860-84z21-rx0) was replaced at mileage 49470. My wife and I are the original owner and the mileage is 61,000-62,000 currently. Approximately 1 month ago we experienced a slight odor like something electrical was burning. Recently, we noticed 1) that the daytime running lights glow at first and gradually reach full intensity. 2) when switching from low headlights to high beams, all headlights go completely out for about 6 seconds before coming on gradually. Because Suzuki automobiles are no longer sold in the united states, the nearest support dealer is located 150 miles away. A local auto repair shop diagnosed and determined the drl module part mentioned in the original recall needs to be replaced. We contacted the support dealer, who, in turn, contacted Suzuki USA about the issue. Suzuki USA indicates they complied with the original recall and refuse to comply a second time. The original recall service report indicated a $122. 60 cost for the part. Currently, Suzuki has the part and wants $294 for it, and they consider the repair to be a billable service. We have not been able to locate any alternate part sources and must rely on Suzuki for this item. I am 79 years old and if I have to drive 150 miles (one way) to make the repair, it will involve the additional cost of an overnight hotel. My local repair guy can do the repair, which I'm willing to pay for if Suzuki can supply the part at $0 or at least for only their product cost. Otherwise, I do not feel safe driving the car with the possibility of having a fire (per the recall notice). Even if no fire occurs, it certainly is not safe without dependable headlights. Won't you please help us? thank you in advance for your assistance.

Problem with the anti-lock brakes. Brakes would shudder, make a loud noise and vibrated. Had to pump them to come to a complete stop. Coleman dealership (lawrenceville, NJ 08648) claimed it was due to warped rotors. Replaced rotors brake pads and flushed brake system. Problem recurred immediately after leaving the dealership. Returned car to dealership on 6/08/2010. Dealership stated the problem was due to a broken sensor. Dealership replaced sensor under warranty, but problem with sensor recurred after 10 months and the anti-lock brakes do not work. Was told the brake failure was due to a broken sensor again. Car is unsafe to drive. Also, air bag light stays on continuously (told this would not affect air bag performance) but that it is an electrical problem.
I own a 2005 Suzuki Verona lx and my abs light and service engine light came on and stayed on. Took to dealer and it was computer scanned and found c1200 c1201 and found a short to ground in wire near left front fender well. Short was repaired. And lights went out. While driving home the abs light come on. I returned to dealer and was told that they needed to order a part for the hub on the car. It had to be ordered.
I just purchased a 2005 Suzuki Verona 5 months ago, and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I'll be on the road and all of a sudden the car will hold back (stall) and drop to less than 20 miles per hour. I've also taken the car to the dealer over 6 times because my check engine light will not come off, and they have yet to fix that. They've put in new sensors twice, flushed the computer various times, and the problem still persists. If this doesn't get fixed my car won't even pass inspection to get my plates and it doesn't even have 20,000 miles on it yet.

I purchased a Suzuki, Verona 2005, on March 4, 2006 from matt blatt imports located at 2445 south delsea drive, vineland, NJ 08360. Since I bought the vehicle, I have had to return the vehicle to a Suzuki authorized dealership for repairs a total of 2 times. My vehicle has been out of service for repairs for a total of 29 calendar days and counting. The current mileage on my vehicle is 10876. My vehicle has been in for repair on the following date for the following repair of the following defects: March 15, 2006 and out the same day. This time was due to the engine service light coming on and staying on Suzuki was unable to repair the problem. My vehicle is currently with Suzuki since the following date for the following repair of the following defects: April 1, 2006 and remains there at this time. Moving my driver seat forward caused the wires to get caught in the seat motor, which resulted in melting the power system or fuse box under the hood of the vehicle. Since these problems substantially have impaired the use, value, safety and confidence of my vehicle as well as in Suzuki, and Suzuki products and its ability repair. I am hereby allowing you one final opportunity to repair my vehicle.
From a full stop I stepped on the accelerator to get up to 40 miles an hour then loose power, speed drops down to 20 to 25 miles and hour and then the engine light starts flashing. Power returns and engine light stops flashing and stays on. This has happen dozens of times and I have take it in to the dealer to be repaired today will be the 4th time for the same thing. I have stopped driving it on the hwy because I was almost hit by a truck when entering hwy and lost power. Since researching this vehicle I have found two others with the same make model and year with the same problems.
