Suzuki Verona owners have reported 5 problems related to air bag not deploy (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Suzuki Verona based on all problems reported for the Verona.
I rear ended a completely stopped vehicle doing approximately 45mph. My head hit the steering wheel and then the windshield causing me to suffer a laceration of my eye, multiple facial bruising, concussion, temporarily knocked out, when I woke up I was paralyzed from the waist up for approximately 15 minutes. My air bags did not deploy. This crash is as frontal of a crash as you can get and I assure you the speed was 40-45 and that the collision was severe. . The Suzuki manual says airbags will deploy on frontal or near frontal collisions at 9mph -- 13mpg if you hit something that wont move, but if you hit a parked car the airbags require you to be slightly over that for air bag deployment. I researched this and Suzuki recalled 5 models in 2005 for defective airbags, 2 models in another country were recalled due to faulty airbags. The (2004) Verona failed its crash test due to faulty airbags. It is my contention that due to horrifically low sales of this model, Suzuki felt that it would be cheaper to litigated accidents then to recall this vehicle. So in this instance they will have their chance to litigate!!.

A 40 mph offset frontal crash test was performed on a 2004 Suzuki Verona at the institute's vehicle research center. After the crash test, it was apparent the driver front air bag failed to deploy properly. The air bag only partially inflated and provided little protection for the dummy's head. Once the dummy's forward momentum had stopped, the flat airbag began to rapidly inflate, which propelled the dummy rearward until it contacted the b-pillar.
