2 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2012

I bought Suzuki Xl7 2008 model from a dealer in fargo, nd in August 2009. It had around 32000 miles on it. In may 2012, I noticed the service airbag light. Whenever, a thin person would be on the passenger seat the passenger airbag would be off and there would be service air bag light. I went to the only Suzuki dealer in moorhead, mn. They said I need to get a new battery and I agreed. Few days afterwards, I moved to tucson, az. The same issue was happening again. There was no Suzuki dealer in tucson. The issue has persisted and today I went to Suzuki dealership in tempe, az. They said the passenger air bag sensor is defective. They will replace it for 1155 usd. It's exactly the same problem as it was in may 2012 but the Suzuki dealership in moorhead, minnesota "misdiagnosed" it. This is a serious problem. Some authority needs to look into this. How come the Suzuki dealership in moorhead, mn diagnosed an air bag sensor problem as a battery problem? and above all why did the air bag system become defective with only 40,000 miles on the vehicle.
