1 Seats problem of the 2007 Suzuki XL7

Failure Date: 02/28/2014

I own a 2007 Suzuki Xl7 the sevice airbag light came on and after spending a good sum of money to find out why by a local certified machanic I was told that the passenger seat sensor was bad ??? I called the local dealer and was told that the connector was under recall and the seat sensor had alot of bullutins to bring it up and they sould handle it leaving the vehicle with them I waited for the call they called the afternoon and said it would be $1056 for a new bottom seat and the airbag would not work. So at this point Suzuki and its partner gm would be responsible for yet more injuries and possible deaths for failing to recall the passenger seat sensor !!!! showing once more just like the ignition switch that money it cost for recalls is more important that human injuries and lives !!! as well as customer loalty. . . . I my self have done simple searches and found more than a few outside of this NHTSA site and the dealer are aware of the problem with out having to research so much so that they knew what I was talking about at the first mention of it. . . . Come on this is a airbag issue not a broken door handle or a rattle this is serious !!!.

2 Seats problem of the 2007 Suzuki XL7

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

The airbag would not turn on regardless of the weight in the passenger seat. When inquired with dealer, we were told there wasn't enough weight even though it ranged from 120- 250. Then the air bag idicator came on and the air bag on/off passenger light is always on off, the airbag on/off light never goes on. Now the dealer is telling us we need to replace the pad in the passenger seat. . . Probably, they can't be certain until it's been changed at a fee of $800. This seems to be a constant issue for this vehicle and the plant that it was made in. The Xl7 and other gm cars with same body frame have the same problem except the Xl7 is not being recalled. Why not? I fear it's because the Xl7 has had a smaller production than other gm cars and now with Suzuki no longer in production, we owners have no one to investigate and initiate a recall - isn't this where/when the government should be stepping up? this cannot be meeting mandatory safety standards. My research shows these vehicles were effected in addition to the Xl7:GMC/acadia 2007, Saturn/outlook 2007 manufacturer: general motors corp. Nhtsa campaign id number: 07v062000 mfg's report date: February 21, 2007 component: air bags: frontal: sensor/control module summary: on certain vehicles, the sensing and diagnostic module (sdm), which controls the function of front air bags, may not operate properly. As a result, the front air bags may fail to deploy in a frontal crash. Also, the air bag warning lamp on the instrument panel may fail to provide warning that the system is inoperative. Consequence: n the event of a crash, this condition could increase the risk of injury to occupants in the front seat. Remedy: dealers will reprogram the sdm computer module. Why is the Xl7 not included in this recall/ repair/ reprogram?.

3 Seats problem of the 2006 Suzuki XL7

Failure Date: 11/01/2011

The ocm sensor in the passenger seat has failed. Therefore my passenger airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident. I am the only driver of this vehicle since I purchased this vehicle in 2007. The passenger seat has rarely been used. It has always remained in the same position. It has never been subject to excess moisture. This seems like a valid safety issue to need a recall of the passenger seat sensor. If someone is in the passenger seat and there is a crash, then there is a good chance the passenger will be subject to more serious injuries. My passenger seat has not been abused, just one day the airbag light came on and never shut off.

4 Seats problem of the 2004 Suzuki XL7

Failure Date: 09/30/2003

While driving on flat road, the vehicle did not accelerate over 50-60 mph. The dealership was unable to duplicate the problem. The consumer purchased the vehicle with what she thought was minor cosmetic problems then they started to get worse as time went on, there was a dragging which came from the rear interior, the seat belt holders rattled, the leather seats had sink holes where the batting was coming from the leather, and there was a loud roar coming from the engine.
