I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent rear drive unit internal part failure in my new Tesla Model 3. The incident has left me fearful that this issue may occur again, and I am genuinely worried for my safety. I implore you and all the employees at Tesla to be honest and transparent about this defect or failure. The gravity of the situation became apparent when I realized how fortunate I was that the car did not come to a halt on the train tracks. The potential consequences could have been catastrophic, not only for myself but also for the passengers on the train. It is alarming to think that such a dangerous situation could arise in a vehicle that is merely five months old. This level of negligence is unacceptable. The rear drive unit failed and the car stopped. I was instructed to reset. I did it twice but still not working. I am lucky it happened on a not busy street and was able to steer the car to the side of the road before it became disabled.

Failure Date: 11/11/2023

I was driving my 2023 Tesla 3 on the street last night and it suddenly slowed down and stopped. The error code di_a137 appeared on my dash screen. I was able to pull to the side but my rear was at the edge of an intersection. My niece and I could have been hit as my car is black and it was dark. I was able to shut down and restart the car by and exiting and entering my car. I am scared to drive my car on the freeway or on busy streets. I could be rear ended if my Tesla 3 decides to slow and stop suddenly again.

The Tesla app allows the owner to transfer the app to another user for access to the vehicle. The app allows the other user to enter the vehicle and drive it. It also allow the other user to enter a credit card for the purpose of using the Tesla charging stations and purchasing Tesla products and services. However, when the other user tries to charge the vehicle (or make purchases of products and services), the credit card is not recognized. I was stranded in lone pine, CA in freezing temperatures because the app does not indicate that only the owner's credit card is authorized for this vehicle. I had to find out the hard way that my credit was not going to allow me to charge the vehicle. I could have been in serious trouble if I had been in the middle of nowhere.

Rcm2_a636 front passenger safety restraint system fault (service is required) this causes an issue where the airbags won’t deploy due to it not thinking there is someone sitting there or not.

40 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2023

When I was trying to park my Tesla Model 3 car it suddenly accelerated and hit a parked car in front of me. I took the car to the repair shop and told them the situation. My reason for the accident didn’t make sense to them so I stated that I may have pressed accelerator instead of brakes but I know that I didn’t press the accelerator. My car has been at the repair shop since 10/14/2023. So, far no one from the Tesla motors, inc. Came to investigate the claim. Even if they repair the car, I don’t feel comfortable driving the car due to the fact that unintended acceleration may repeat itself.

41 Equipment problem

46 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2023

8 minutes after leaving the dealership while driving along a highway, car displayed error message, "acceleration and top speed reduced" and began automatically slowing down and came to a complete stop. Fortunately I was able to pull over to the side next to a highway barrier but it was still a dangerous situation as cars and trucks were passing by at high speed. Car would not respond and not drive, even after turning off and on car and computer system several times. Police had to be dispatched to block lane and vehicle had to be towed away from side of highway. No explanation or help provided by Tesla as to why the brand new car suddenly stopped working.

47 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2023

Rear drive unit inverter failed and left me stranded on a busy highway on the shoulder. Waited an hour for tow truck to arrive. Car had about 3000 miles on it. Car was fixed under warranty but shouldn't be having an issue with a car that is relatively new. Searching through forums, I have encountered a lot of people having the same issue.

Software version: 2023. 12. 10 over the past month, I have experienced a recurring problem with my vehicle's auditory notification system. The issue first began a couple of software updates ago and has persisted through the most recent update. The problem manifests sporadically, having occurred three times within the past month. When this issue arises, all system sounds, excluding radio and media, cease to function for the duration of my ride and persist across all future rides until the vehicle is hard rebooted. There are no visible warning signs or error messages on the dashboard to indicate that the system sounds are malfunctioning. Proof of issue - https://youtube. Com/shorts/vbderqvvzp4?feature=share the malfunctioning system sounds include but are not limited 1. Forward collision warning sounds 2. Seatbelt warning sounds 3. Blinker indicator sounds 4. Ev reverse sounds 5. System notifications 6. All alerts and warnings attempts to resolve the issue: to temporarily rectify the issue, I performed a hard reboot on the vehicle's system. This measure restored the sounds, but the problem consistently returns. **safety concerns:** this issue poses a significant safety concern as the lack of audible notifications increases the risk of accidents, particularly due to the absence of forward collision warning sounds, seatbelt warning sounds, and blinker indicator sounds. Additional observations: it is important to note that this issue began a few software updates ago and has persisted despite subsequent updates. There are no error messages or warnings on the dashboard when the auditory system malfunctions, making the problem harder to detect until an auditory notification is expected but not heard.

This incident is reported by a law office. The car being driven by our client was a Tesla Model 3 which made a sudden unexpected acceleration when our client was slowly looking for a parking space at a parking lot. The Tesla car suddenly accelerated at a high rate of speed without client pressing on the accelerator. On the contrary, our client was stepping on the brakes in an attempt to stop it but the Tesla did not stop but still continued to accelerate. This accident caused property damages and injuries to our client, his passenger, and others.

2023 Tesla Model 3. Consumer writes in regard to several issues with their vehicle ranging from minor to dangerous.

51 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2023

I bought a new Tesla Model 3 in December of 2022. In mid March 2023 we had our first road trip in this vehicle. I had at least 4 major phantom braking incidences while traveling an average of 75 mph on I-80 with the cruise control on. Two were experienced while traveling eastbound in nebraska and two were while traveling westbound a week later in wyoming. Each experiece was separated in time by at least two hours. The last one scared me and my wife so much that she won't ride in the Tesla on the freeway until it is fixed. We also had several minor phantom braking experiences which did not alarm us. What happened is that the car slammed on the brakes while going 75 and reduced the speed to about 55 in seconds. It was over before I could react. The tires did not skid and fortunately no one was following us. I fear that if someone was tailgating me that they would have rear ended our car. I had experienced a couple of phantom braking events in utah in previous months but they weren't severe enough for me to report it.

52 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2023

A large portion of the plastic accelerator pedal broke.

53 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2023

We were driving down the road, emergency braking enabled came on and car came to a complete abrupt start 10ft from railroad tracks and would not do anything. Could not reset it. Nothing.

54 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2022

I was pulling the car in to a parking lot in a mall. I was driving very slow to bring the car to a halt. All of a sudden the car just accelerated and went and hit a pillar right in front of the parking lot. I don't know what caused the vehicle to suddenly accelerate. I am pretty sure I did not step of the gas pedal. I checked the dashcam for recordings but couldn't find any. We have experienced this sudden unintended acceleration before on the road as well. I think I must have engaged auto-pilot or auto-steer by mistake which caused this.

55 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2022

Back in February my Tesla Model 3 started acting up emergency brake was disabled, automatic vehicle hold was disabled, and traction control was disabled all issues I reported to the company app with photo. This problem stated when a software update happened after the Tesla app requested it.

56 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2022

I was pulling into a park spot , coming to a stop and the car within seconds accelerated into a building. There was no warning at all. Also, after the collision a warning popped on the screen saying that the emergency break was disabled. This was the first time seeing this alert, and I did not disable anything. I picked up the car on 11/28.

57 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2022

I was driving a turn on a major intersection stirling and I-95 holly wood florida to the on ramp to enter I-95 southbound when my car began shaking violently during the turn and completely shut down. The car was dead and I could not go forward or reverse. The center information panel was still lit up but the car would not move in any direction. I was blocking two lanes of the major intersection for about an hour till 2 road rangers arrived and dragged my car off the road. If I had made it around the turn and this catastrophic shut down occurred when I was on I-95 I could have experience severe injury or loss of life if I was struck by traffic on the highway. The car was brand new with 108 miles on it at the time. I purchased the car on 11/20/22 and the shutdown occurred on 11/23/22 after only 3 days of driving it. This Tesla Model 3 was very unsafe and the cause of what happened to me should be investigated so other people do not get injured or lose their life.
