1 Tire problem of the 2018 Tesla Model 3

Failure Date: 11/05/2025

1. The component that failed is the load index rating and both inner and outer sidewalls of the tire. Yes, the tires are available for inspection, they are off the car and stored in my garage. 2. I believe the safety of others and my self were at risk, I went for a tire rotation and saw the damage and asked the shop if tires were good and they said its good. Later my father points out this will kill me, so I went back and they offered the replacement warranty with that "tire is free and clear of all liens" claim. :( I refused to sign after reading and bought new tires at Tesla and kept the old ones in storage. Also would like to note there website has a gap on warranty manual year after January 1, 2021 to before January 1, 2024 so I'm assuming the newest one is in play. Overall, the safety of others mainly heavy cars like Tesla's are involved. Also the local manger spilled to me that these tires are on hertz and enterprise cars, but they might be lighter/cheaper versions then mine. 3. Yes, Tesla tech in libertyville IL informed me this is a problem and to read my user manual and double check the load index rating. All of which check out correct and don't sound any alarms. 4. No, only firestone and Tesla inspected the tires. 5. No, no warnings besides the cracks forming and getting bigger in the cold weather. Only visual inspection or leak might warn others, but I fear the leak is too late unless parked. Tire size: "235/45r18 94w m+s" from the actual tire. Now that I'm looking at it they are missing the 'p' for passenger.

The contact owns a 2025 Tesla Model 3. The contact stated that the vehicle was vibrating while driving at 60 mph, and the vibration was going to the contact's head. 3 Tire problem of the 2021 Tesla Model 3

Failure Date: 08/08/2025

On [xxx], I was given a Tesla Model 3 loaner vehicle (VIN: [xxx] ) from the knoxville, TN Tesla service center while my own Tesla was in for warranty repair. At pickup, I told the service advisor that the passenger-side tires looked unsafe. No inspection or warning was provided. After driving only 7. 7 miles at normal speed on smooth roads, both passenger-side tires failed simultaneously. There were no potholes, curbs, or debris impacts. Tesla’s own service invoice states the cause was “not specified” and only speculates possible curb or debris damage without proof. Two tires failing on the same side so soon after hand-off suggests a pre-existing structural defect or safety issue. This incident posed a serious safety risk to myself and other motorists and could have caused loss of control at highway speeds. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

5 Tire problem of the 2019 Tesla Model 3

Failure Date: 04/09/2024

Continental 235/40/r19 this is what I sent to consumer affair website: my personal experience reflects exactly the same as the poor rating of this brand. Tire has separation at 32k miles on the Tesla 3. I first noticed a thumb thumb sound. I ignored but it got worse then the vibration inside cabin started to occur. I pulled the tire off and inspected. My god I have a tire separation with steel wire sticking out and a big hump. I got mad after I found out that Tesla wants nothing to do with it (heck they don't even a have no. To call for an expensive car, shame on you Tesla) and continental does not have a warranty. Spending time searching for another tire to buy I find out it is expensive for ev tire. I was frustrated and angry that I have to deal with a defective tire with no warranty from Tesla and continental for low miles (plenty of thread left on tire). I decided to call continental. The experience was horrible with them hung up on me and a run around. They told me to take to discount tire to have it inspect. Dt agreed tire is defective and expect me to pay $250 with pro rate covered by continental. I already found the same tire for $225 so I tell d. T take a hike. I called continental back and hell broke loose. I got a lot of run around, hung up with the rep. Then manager and they won't do the tire pro rate more than 30%. I got fed up with lot of cussing I went back to d. Tire and settled with another continental tire that is cheaper. I was pushing my luck driving with the tire that will blow anytime. The f. Tesla does not have a spare tire on an expensive car (shame on you Tesla). I had no choice to replace a tire out of my pocket of $150 for the same brand as that is the only one with similar thread pattern very reluctantly as I had no other choice or take a risk driving and no spare tire.

Failure Date: 10/29/2022

On October 29, 2022 the michelin tire on my 2020 Tesla Model 3 that had 16,000 miles on it, suffered catastrophic tread loss while traveling at 70 miles per hour on California route 110. The tire was the original equipment tire supplied with this vehicle when my lease began in January, 2021. The dot number on the tire was b9 el 04 ex 0419 and the tire size was 235/45r18 98w. The tread did not wear out, the tread delaminated from the tire and was lost on the side of California route 110.

8 Tire problem of the 2021 Tesla Model 3

Failure Date: 03/14/2022

Pirelli pzero 235/35/r20 tires on the entire car, was driving when front left tire blew out after 4500 miles, had the car towed back to Tesla dealer and tire replaced. Now after 2 months, rear left tire has bubble on the sidewall after only 5400 miles with no indication of previous damage. I believe this to be a defective tire and an immense safety hazard.
