1 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2026

On the evening of April 8th 2026, my wife was driving our 2023 Tesla Model Y home in san francisco, CA when she noticed unusual noise coming from the front left wheel area. The vehicle was otherwise functioning normally aside from the noise. The following morning, I inspected the vehicle and found a large hex bolt (class 10. 9 grade) on the ground directly beneath the car. The front left wheel was binding and the vehicle was completely undrivable — the wheel felt stuck and made grinding/scraping noises when attempting to move. Based on the bolt size, grade, and location, this appears to be a front suspension lateral link fastener that detached from the subframe. This is the same defect described in NHTSA recalls 21v-835, 22v-895, and 23v-235, involving under-torqued or improperly secured front suspension fasteners on Tesla Model Y vehicles. The vehicle had 28,482 miles at the time of the incident. There was no prior collision, impact, or road hazard event. No warning or alert appeared on the Tesla touchscreen at any point. The vehicle displayed no diagnostic message despite having a compromised suspension component.

2 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2026

While performing a low-speed reverse turn into a driveway, a loud clunk was heard and the driver side front wheel completely separated from alignment. The vehicle became immediately undrivable. Upon inspection, the ball joint retaining nut was found to be absent from the front driver side suspension assembly. No torque verification mark was present on the fastener. The vehicle is currently at an authorized Tesla service center for repair and is available for inspection. Safety risk: complete loss of wheel alignment and directional control. Failure occurred at low speed in a private driveway. Had this occurred at highway speed the consequences could have been catastrophic. Confirmed by dealer: an authorized Tesla service advisor confirmed that a technical service bulletin exists in Tesla’s system for this exact condition. No owner notification was issued prior to failure. The advisor confirmed the retaining nut is installed by an automated robot assembly process with no human torque verification step and no verification mark applied. Prior warning symptoms: none. No warning lamps, no messages, no audible symptoms prior to catastrophic failure. The absence of a retaining nut on a safety-critical suspension fastener with no quality verification process represents a systemic assembly defect potentially affecting all vehicles produced under the same assembly process.

3 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 03/20/2026

Catastrophic axle failure, I was driving out from my driveway when this happened. Just the day before my wife was driving on the highway, and I was driving with my two boys. I have video of the complete failure of the left driver's side axle. The vehicle was towed by the dealer and is at the dealer as we speak. There has been no inspection by the police or insurance representative. We had reported it to Tesla at our last appointment but they said they could not recreate the noise.

4 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 03/18/2026

Vehicle: 2023 Tesla Model Y long range complaint: I am reporting a serious safety issue involving a vehicle sold by tim dahle Nissan murray in murray, utah. Approximately three weeks ago, I purchased a 2023 Tesla Model Y long range from this dealership. After purchase, I discovered that the rear seat belts were not functioning. I have evidence indicating that the dealership was aware of this defect prior to the sale. This is a critical safety issue, as seat belts are required safety equipment under federal motor vehicle safety standards. The vehicle should not have been sold in this condition. Additionally, the vehicle had an issue with the right rear wheel/tire losing air. When I returned to the dealership, they failed to properly inspect or repair the issue. Instead, they reduced the air pressure in the other tires to match the leaking tire, rather than addressing the defect. After leaving the dealership, the tire again lost air. Upon inspection by another service provider, the wheel rim was found to be bent. When the tire was inflated to proper pressure, it began leaking air immediately. This created an unsafe driving condition, as the vehicle could not maintain proper tire pressure. I was forced to have the vehicle repaired by Tesla at my own expense ($1,390). The combination of non-functioning seat belts and an unsafe wheel condition placed my family, including my newborn child, at significant risk. I am requesting that this matter be investigated as the dealership knowingly sold a vehicle with defective safety equipment and failed to properly address additional safety-related issues. Also a police report was filed but I do not know how to get ahold of that it was filed with the murray police department.

5 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2026

While driving under normal conditions, without any prior impact, collision, or road hazard, the control arm on my vehicle suddenly detached. This occurred during active driving and caused an immediate loss of vehicle stability and control. The failure happened without warning and posed a serious safety risk. At the time of the incident, my children were in the vehicle, which significantly increased the danger. The vehicle had not been involved in any accident or misuse. This appears to be a potential manufacturing or assembly defect involving a critical suspension component. Tesla towed the vehicle and repaired it at no cost. However, a suspension/control arm failure during normal driving is a serious safety concern that could lead to loss of steering control and possible crash. I am reporting this incident for safety investigation purposes, as this type of failure may pose a broader risk to other drivers.

6 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2026

While dropping to school in my Tesla Model Y on [xxx] , I experienced a severe safety incident. A lower control arm bolt on the driver's side came off, causing the suspension to collapse. Before this, I noticed symptoms consistent with reported Model Y issues: rattling, clunking/popping noises, particularly when driving over bumps or turning, and unstable steering. This appears to be a manufacturing defect, similar to previous recalls for under-torqued bolts. I am reporting this for investigation to ensure Tesla takes prompt action to prevent future, potentially dangerous incidents. Currently it is towed to telsa service center to resolve the issue. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

7 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2026

While making a left turn at normal turning speed, the steering system became unresponsive. The steering wheel was able to move; however, there was no corresponding movement of the front tires/wheels. The front wheels appeared to remain stuck at approximately a 45-degree left position and did not return toward the straight-ahead position despite steering input. It is also possible that the steering wheel itself became locked or partially locked during this event. As a result, the vehicle could not be corrected and collided with the median and a pillar. The collision caused the airbags to deploy and resulted in severe front-end damage, with an estimated repair cost exceeding $40,000. This steering failure occurred without warning and resulted in a sudden loss of vehicle control, creating a serious safety hazard to the occupants and surrounding traffic. The vehicle was subsequently declared a total loss.

8 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2025

All in the same day: 1) odd sound from behind the pedal area of driver side front quarter (sounded like a styrofoam cooler top rubbing against the cooler is the best way to describe - faint though). 2)bang when in a parking garage turning full right but still able to control without difficulty. Made it home without incident. 3)later that day, just after getting off of i4 in orlando I pulled into grocery parking lot and parked. When I returned to my car I again turned right and a loud bang and the car jerked to a sudden halt. I was able to back into a parking spot but there were 2 large screws in the driving land and the left wheel was toed slightly to the left. Ultimately it was detached when we tried to tow it we had to remove tire and put on a device to allow us to move it. Per Tesla “I have updated that estimate! the vehicle has very heavy damage, and this is the start. Once we replace these components their (sic) could be more damage, and it also could potentially need to go to a body shop!” thankfully this didn’t happen at speed with my daughter in the car on i4! this is unsafe and a simple internet search revealed it is not an uncommon parts failure at this mileage! this is dangerous. All of this at just 54,000 miles. (4k out of warranty).

9 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2025

While driving approximately 5–10 mph and making a right turn on a local street, the vehicle suddenly produced a metallic pulling sound followed by a loud impact. The vehicle abruptly stopped and became undrivable. Upon exiting the vehicle, the left front wheel was visibly displaced from normal alignment and appeared to have shifted rearward into the wheel well. No collision, curb strike, pothole, or road debris was involved. The vehicle had exhibited a wire-tugging or metallic noise during turning in the days prior. The failure occurred without warning and resulted in a sudden loss of vehicle control at low speed. The vehicle was towed to Tesla, where the left front control arm was found to be disconnected/broken. Tesla has not yet provided a determination and is attempting to route the vehicle to a collision center despite no evidence of impact. This appears to be a suspension component failure that could have resulted in a serious accident at higher speeds. Safety impact: loss of steering control, risk of crash, inability to drive vehicle.

10 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2025

Concern: passenger side front wheel trim - fitment issue upon making right turns somewhere from passenger side front suspension area making loud noise started today around 5:30 to 6pm and wheel alignment is error started is showing on screen. Repair notes: technician inspected and road tested the vehicle, verifying a loud noise from the passenger side front suspension area during right turns, as reported by the customer. The issue was caused by loose bolts on the lower lateral link on the left side. The technician replaced the front lower lateral link assembly, along with the necessary bolts and nuts, and performed a four-wheel alignment check and adjustment. After the repair, the technician confirmed the noise was resolved and the vehicle's alignment error was no longer displayed.

11 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2025

It was raining on I-287 north bound in bridgewater township, NJ. I was driving my Tesla Model Y well below the posted speed as it was raining. Suddenly my car took a spin, I lost control of the steering. Car took a 360 degree turn from right most lane on 3-lane highway and ended up on the side of the left most lane, rear ended into the bushes, hit the trees and damaged the back of the car. My car is all wheel drive, still I lost the control. I was so lucky to be alive.

12 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2025

During normal driving on sat Sep 27 2025, unusual noises started to come from the front left wheel. There were no warning lamps or messages, and no indication of issues prior to onset of the noise. I had the vehicle towed to a Tesla service center the following day. Tesla's technicians found that the front lateral link bolt on the left hand side had backed out and fallen out of the subframe. They determined that the cause was related to improper torque specification or application of the original bolt. They reached this conclusion in part because the passenger side lateral link to subframe bolts were also under-torqued. Rear bolts were not affected. Tesla has replaced the front lateral links on both sides with new bolts. There was no vehicle accident or damage, so there has been no involvement or inspection by police or insurance. It is fortunate that this issue began when the vehicle was traveling at low speed, and that I chose to have the vehicle towed to the service center rather than driving it. The bolt has loosened when the noise started, and finally fell out at the service center. Had I been driving at highway speeds when the bolt fell out, I could have lost control of the car and injured myself and others. Online research suggests this is not an isolated incident for this model of car.

13 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 09/21/2025

I picked up my son from school and got home at about 3:30 pm on Sunday 9/21/2025. My son got out of the car and I heard a “clicking” sound when turning my steering wheel to the left to prepare for backing into my garage. There were no warning lights or messages for this issue. I did get out of my car and checked, but did not see anything that hit my car underneath. I got back in my car and continued backing my car into the garage. The nightmare started happening - the bolts connecting the front control arm and steering knuckle fell off that caused the left “arm” disconnected from the steering knuckle. This had resulted a sudden total loss of steering control. Please see attached photos. I could not imagine if this would have happened on the freeway.

14 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2025

The front driver’s side wheel came off of the axel while parking. Lug nuts/studs appear intact, suggesting a suspension component failure. This is a serious safety hazard that could have caused loss of control and injury.

15 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2025

Two days ago a warning popped up on the Tesla screen saying to schedule service for something the car had detected. It said the car could still be driven. I submitted a service request in the app, and in the meantime researched the error. Per google, it said this was a potential issue with suspension / steering components that needed to be looked at. The next day, a Tesla technician called and asked what my appointment was for. I told him about the error and that I had found it said it was for a suspension or steering issue. He told me I was wrong, and that it was only for low tire pressure. The car did not have low tire pressure. He said the appointment wasn't needed, cancelled the appointment, and told me to drive 30-40 miles to clear the error. Literally 5 hours later, after my wife driving my kids down the freeway, when parking on the street in front go my house the car made a giant pop and the front left sank. We looked under the car and the front drivers side control arm had completely disconnected, popping straight down towards the road. More concerning, two bolts popped out, not broken, but just clearly loose and had finally unscrewed. You will see them on the ground in the pictures. If this had happened 5 minutes earlier while on the freeway I don't want to even think about what might have happened. These cars should be recalled, this is super dangerous. Not to mention the fact that Tesla explicitly canceled my appointment for this and told me not to bring the car in.

16 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2025

Incident details: • date/time: [xxx]. • location: [xxx] • event: while driving, the front left wheel partially detached without warning, causing an immediate loss of steering control. Findings (third-party technician at the scene): • the wheel/control arm/linkage had come loose/detached. • two major suspension bolts were extremely loose or had detached. • a rotor screw detached easily during inspection. • photos, videos, and witness statements are available upon request. Current status: Tesla has not provided a failure analysis or demonstrated that the issue is resolved. Similar failures have been reported on social media, and recalls between 2021–2023 addressed front suspension lateral link fasteners that could loosen or detach. “a 2021 recall (NHTSA recall #21v835) affected model 3s from January 2019-April 2021 and Model Ys from March 2020-June 2021. A 2022 recall (NHTSA #22v895) was for certain 2023 Model Ys with issues on the left-hand lateral link. “ my vehicle has not been included in any such recall, and I received no prior notification. Supporting documentation (emails, service records, publications) is available upon request. Risk level: extremely high. This defect creates a severe danger to drivers, passengers, and the public. Tesla’s lack of corrective action leaves many customers at risk. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

17 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2025

I am writing to formally report a serious safety incident involving my Tesla Model Y 2023, VIN: [xxx] , in which the front right tire detached from the axle while parking on [xxx] at [xxx] . Description of incident: while maneuvering the car slowly into a parking spot, the front tire suddenly dislodged from the axle or aero suspension. The car became immobile on the spot. Thankfully, there were no injuries, but the outcome could have been catastrophic had this happened at speed. The car was immediately towed to Tesla service center sacramento, arden way, where technicians diagnosed the failure as being due to the issue being caused by loose front lower lateral link mounting bolts and damaged front compliance links — a structural suspension component. Critical concerns: Tesla’s own technicians confirmed that: this failure was not caused by user error or road impact. The issue was caused by loose front lower lateral link mounting bolts and damaged front compliance links the bolts had loosened over time or were improperly torqued during manufacturing or servicing. Emotional & functional impact: I am now afraid to drive this vehicle, unsure of its reliability and safety. I’ve experienced anxiety, sleep disruption, and ongoing depressive symptoms since the incident. This event has interrupted my daily life, shaken my trust in Tesla, and caused extreme emotional stress. Had this happened on a highway or in traffic, it could have led to serious injuries or fatalities. My formal requests: a written report detailing the failure, root cause, and whether it relates to known issues or recalls. A clear statement on whether Tesla assumes liability for this event. A full remedy, which may include: replacement or buyback of the vehicle, compensation for emotional distress and lost use, commitment to enhanced quality control inspections. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

18 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2025

While driving on the freeway, I heard an unusual noise coming from beneath the battery of my car. Concerned, I drove to a nearby friend's house and parked there, carefully checking my dashboard for any warning signals but finding none. I decided to resume my journey, but as I backed out of the driveway, I heard a sudden noise indicating something had come loose, followed by a crackling sound. Upon inspecting the car, I discovered that the control arm had become detached, the axle had popped out, and two bolts had come off. During the towing process, I noticed that the steering had become extremely tight. To my surprise, I had never received any recall notice from Tesla addressing this issue. Considering that my car is less than two years old, I was deeply disturbed by the situation. This incident has significantly undermined my confidence in the safety of the vehicle, as it highlights a potential manufacturing defect involving defective parts. I regularly use this car to drive my children to their activities, and knowing that this could have led to a catastrophic failure such as tire separation, loss of steering control, or compromised braking capabilities especially on the freeway, is worrying. The car was towed to a dealer and currently in the queue for evaluation by Tesla technicians. I requested detailed service report from irvine service center. There were no warning indicators in the dashboard while I was driving or after the bolts came loose.

19 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2025

According to Tesla service, my two "lateral links" for the front wheels need to be replaced. They sent us photos of the issue and it looks like one of the fasteners for one of the lateral links was missing (1 of two fasteners) if the other fastener failed/fell out the car could easily steer out of control. The problem of the lateral links was confirmed by Tesla servicing. They are repairing it under warranty. It was only been inspected by the manufacturer, Tesla. There were no warning lamps. The only indication was the thumping sound during turns.

20 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2025

I am writing to report a serious safety issue following a recent service appointment for my Tesla Model Y at the peabody, MA location (10 andover st) on Friday, [xxx]. After driving approximately one hour on the highway following my visit, I heard a popping noise. Upon arriving home, I inspected my vehicle and removed the lug nut cover from the rear right tire — the one that was serviced during my appointment. To my shock, two lug nuts came off with the cover, and two others were not even screwed in. This is absolutely unacceptable and extremely dangerous. The wheel could have come off while I was driving, which could have led to a catastrophic accident. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

21 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2025

I am writing to report severe safety concerns involving my Tesla Model Y. Without any accident or impact, my vehicle experienced a mechanical failure on [xxx}, when the front left tire detached, making the car immobile. The vehicle had approximately 31,500 miles and no prior damage or accident history. Tesla towed the car for repairs. However, during the repair process, I discovered that the vehicle was transferred to a body shop in chantilly, va, without my prior knowledge or consent. When I visited the shop to retrieve personal belongings, I was shocked to see that the condition of my vehicle had significantly worsened. The technician informed me that the car now had serious structural damage, including a twisted frame and extensive paint damage. This damage did not exist before and was not caused by an impact. The technician indicated that repairs would take at least a week if only bodywork was addressed. Most concerning, the vehicle was transferred with no visible damage, yet now has severe structural issues. Tesla has suggested replacing the damaged body parts later, which makes no sense given that the car was in a safe condition prior to the transfer. Additionally, the front wheel, which detached earlier, was reassembled without impact, but the vehicle remains unsafe. It has taken over 30 days to attempt repairs, and the vehicle still is not fully fixed. I do not feel safe driving it under these conditions. Furthermore, communication regarding the damage has been poor. I was not informed of any body or structural damage before the transfer. Tesla’s recent message asked me to pick up the vehicle, stating they will order parts later, which is confusing and concerning. Given the extensive damage, delays, and safety risks, I request the NHTSA investigate these issues. I also urge Tesla to buy back my vehicle so I can use the credit toward purchasing a new Tesla, ensuring my safety and confidence. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information.

22 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2025

This is my 7th report. On [xxx] [xxx] pm I was traveling home from alburquerque and was just past isleta resort and casino heading south on [xxx]. I don't use cruise control very often because of the emergency braking that occurs (and that I have reported several times before). I was on a long drive and decided to try it on a short section of [xxx] on my first day, and found that it was slowing on it's own when I approached a car from behind. Two days later on the way home, when there was no one in front of me, it slowed significantly without needing to and I thought it was better than the past rapid braking. . . As I was thinking about this, the car abruptly "slammed on the brakes". I was forced forward but had my seat belt on. Stuff fell off back seat onto the floor. The igloo cooler on the front passenger floor toppled forward. I'm quite sure there would have been a accident had someone been behind me. Additionally, the car is not recording my tire rotation from 16,000 miles, and continually says the last tire rotation was at 8,000. Good thing discount tire keeps track, as I am now overdue for another rotation (25k+ miles). Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6.

23 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2025

1. Front passenger side wheel and auto steering system malfunctioned. Yes it is available for inspection. 2. My car was not drivable and I was stuck on the leftmost lane of highway with fast traffic passing by. Had to call 911 to move myself to safety. 3. Not yet 4. Vehicle has been inspected by the police 5. No warning lamps or message prior to failure.

24 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2025

Two weeks I had my Model Y serviced for shaking of the car and steering wheel. They deemed the cause of the shaking due to unalignment of the wheels and they claimed to have fixed the issue. After receiving the car for the week after it began to make a sound of something hitting every time I made a u turn or any time I turned the wheel. While driving 3/8 with my family in the car I made a u turn in a parking lot and heard the same loud sound of hitting. When I went to check two large approximately 3 inch bolts were on the ground but no nuts in sight and my control arm broke the bottom plate and was completely unattached from the car. Thankfully the bolts came off while in a parking lot and not 20 minutes prior when I was driving on a windy road. Within 24hours Tesla contacted me saying my car was ready for pickup without any explanation of why the bolts came off, no full inspection completed for other issues and no alignment of the tires. Under the Tesla mechanic notes they only reinstalled the bolts and tightened the front wheels and not the back. Upon further research online I have found numerous other people complaining of the same issue of the bolts for the control arm falling off on Model Y and 3 Teslas due to forgetting to weld the bolt nuts to the sub frame.

25 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2024

Front suspension axel system failed two bolts fell off left wheel arm causing me to lose control of vehicle. I was in the vehicle with my children I was driving out my mothers driveway less than 5mph when the incident occurred I do not even want to imagine what could have happened if I was driving the vehicle on a high way or at a high speed. Tesla representatives I have spoke to over the phone have said them selves this is common and I have read multiple articles online this is a safety issue if this happens on a highway this would and could cause fatalities. The vehicle did not prompt any warnings or messages. Prior to this incident occurring I reached out to Tesla because vehicle had been making a clicking noise and the soonest appointment they had available was not until January. The vehicle has been towed to Tesla van nuys CA and two different tow truck companies did not want to be involved so Tesla road side had to do the tow all 3 tow truck drivers agreed this is definitely a safety issue and common issue with Tesla this needs to be recalled.

26 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 11/08/2024

The tire losing with steering shaft . The bolt come off , my vehicle can’t make hard turn make it unsafe to able to drive.

27 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2024

I was driving out to pittsburgh to drop my daughters off at school, and my rear driver-side tire rapidly went from 40 psi to 20. I almost lost control of the vehicle at one point. It turns out my 9 month old Tesla Model Y performance had a cracked rim. I have had cars for almost 40 years and never had a cracked rim until now. Something is seriously wrong with the 21 inch rims Tesla is making for their Model Y performance models. I was in the Tesla dealer today and 2 other people had the exact same problem, and their is a ton of info online about Tesla cracked rims. I had to pay $1,018 for a new rim that was 9 months old. (so did the 2 other people today) something seriously is wrong with Tesla Model Y performance rims. Their manufacturing process clearly is flawed for this to be such a persistent problem.

28 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2024

Front right side wheel disengaged from the steering wheel. It was very scary situation to deal with and luckily it happened while I was on alley. I was not sure what was going as suddenly car was not under my control and acting weirdly. I hit a parked car and came out of the car safely. When parked the car then realized right wheel was disengaged. Called the Tesla insurance and they are not responding for over a month now since the incident happened. Tesla is saying I need to facilitate all this with the Tesla authorized facility. Bottom-line, car is with Tesla insurance and nothing is happened for over a month.

29 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2024

At approximately, 14,300 miles and while still under full manufacturer's warranty coverage, the front end of my vehicle started vibrating excessively at speeds of over 65 mph while driving on smooth road surface (highway driving). I took the car to the local Tesla dealership to have the problem diagnosed. They determined that the "foam lining" on the inside of the tire separated and caused the wheel to become unbalanced. Their fix was to remove the foam lining and reinstall the tire on the wheel without the foam lining. I now have 1 tire out of 4 that does not meet the original oem spec and condition. Below are the notes from the invoice for $256. 10 that I had to pay to correct the problem. Repair notes: verified customer concern. Found rh front tire to have foam separation. Removed foam rebelanced tires. Test drove vehicle to verify vibration no longer present. Verified repairs. Correction: tire - front - rh (remove & install) - remove and install this seems to be a common problem with these foam lined tires manufactured by goodyear according to Tesla owner blogs. It seems that either Tesla and or goodyear are not claiming responsibility for a potential design and or manufacturing problem which is why I am filing a formal complaint. I will also be filing a complaint specific to the goodyear tire.

30 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2024

I used the full self driving software Tesla provided us in April. On April 15th, the car did not detect a curb therefore the car went right over the curb which popped both right side tires and the front rim. Damage was $1,800. I brought this up to Tesla and they informed me that it was my fault for not taking over and refused to help with the repairs. I understand taking over if there was a 3-foot shoulder, but on roads with no shoulder such as this one I found it impossible to correct in time. Also, at the very last split second, the torque on the wheel was too tight too correct (not enough time anyways). This is a busy state maintained road in the middle of columbia, missouri near a college campus and my safety was put at risk while I had to find the next side street to pull over. This is dangerous software that is not ready yet.

31 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2024

Tesla suddenly accelerated forward from a complete stop at very rapid pace and hit a wall.

32 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2023

I am lodging a formal complaint about recurring safety issues with my Tesla Model Y long range dual motor awd, purchased on June 8, 2023. These issues have led to multiple skidding incidents under normal conditions, vehicle damage, and concerns about its safety and reliability. Incidents: sept. 23, 2023 (6,279 miles): suspension noise reported to Tesla service center, clarkston, mi. Service concluded suspension was operating as intended (invoice no. 3000s0008134598). Dec. 4, 2024 (29,425 miles): skidding on a highway caused minor contact with another vehicle. Repairs (two rear tires and parking lamp) cost $1,007. 28 at grand rapids service center (invoice no. 3000s0011836159). Dec. 24, 2024: at 9 mph near a stop sign, the vehicle skidded, colliding with a cement pole, damaging the bumper and parking lamp. Jan. 9, 2025: during a service appointment at ann arbor, technicians experienced skidding during a road test. Inspection revealed worn rear tires (recently replaced), damaged suspension, and subframe assembly. Repair costs totaled $10,022. 69, but Tesla denied warranty coverage. Concerns: safety and reliability: the awd system consistently fails to prevent skidding, unlike older vehicles from other manufacturers like Hyundai and Toyota. Service negligence: Tesla grand rapids provided worn rear tires. Previous services overlooked suspension and alignment issues, contributing to recurring incidents. Warranty denial: despite being under warranty, Tesla refused coverage, advising an insurance claim, which is unjustified given the defects and poor maintenance. Request for NHTSA action: investigate potential defects in the braking, traction control, and suspension systems. Recommend a recall if defects are confirmed. Hold Tesla accountable for repairs under warranty and ensure improved service practices. Seek compensation for emotional distress and service deficiencies. I hope NHTSA will act promptly to ensure public safety and uphold Tesla’s commitment to safety measures.

Rims cacked . Same issues with some Tesla cars that posted on media. Same identical cracked image, air leaking slowly at the crack. Found no signs of rim damage to cause rims crack.

34 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 09/16/2023

I was driving through a busy nyc street very slowly. Probably 10 mph or less. I was on a red light. Then I moved forward when the light turned green, my handle felt weird and the car was moving side ways. I first thought it was the tire that blew off. So I immediately stopped the car and had my husband look at the tires. No holes, no pressure was lost. I thought it was so odd, so I started moving forward a little bit, again. Something felt very off. We stopped again and looked throughly and realized the right rear wheel was twisted while the other three remained straight. This is our brand new car that was just picked up 7 days ago. We just simply couldn’t believe our eyes. My whole family including my husband, my two kids (7,10), our dog and myself were in the car and I can’t imagine ourself being in the same situation if we were on a highway at a faster speed. We’d probably dead by now. I didn’t hit anything, I was going 10 mph, there was nothing on the street. And the wheel getting twisted like that just doesn’t justify anything but a defect.

35 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2023

The car suddenly crossed the double yellow line on a local road and hit another car coming from the opposite direction on a local road (adams lane, north brunswick, NJ). The wheel joint was faulty that broke (see attached pictures) and pull the car to the other side of the road without warning. Even the airbag in this car is not deployed. The vehicle was towed by police to a garage (coppa's service center & towing, 1 moore road, north brunswick, NJ 08902. Ph. 732-297-7530). The vehicle has been declared as a total loss bt the insurance company. Because my car crossed the yellow line and hit the other car, I got tickets (crashdocs. Org; polish report # 23034105; date: 06/20/2023). I and the lone person the other care are lucky to survive this accident. I feel that such a fault might put other Tesla Model Y drivers/passengers and others in danger on the road. Please investigate to keep people safe. Kalyan das 908-720-8099.
