One problem related to brake master cylinder has been reported for the 1996 Toyota 4Runner. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
When applying the abs brakes the pedal went to the floor, causing extended stopping distance. Also, dealer replaced two master cylinders and leaking caliper, which did not correct the problem.
