Takata recall . . . . . After receiving Toyota's official u. S. Postal notice, I called my local Toyota dealer (autonation on w sahara, las vegas, nv) to get this issue fixed. After not hearing back from the person who promised to return my call, I called again six hours later and was given some b. S. Story, but was told it was being ordered and would be at the dealership the next day. About an hour later, I received an e-mail from my dealer, autonation, that I need to call them to make an appt. To fix the recall issue. The person I spoke to (not the same one as earlier in the day) seemed to not understand. I repeated the issue (scenario as written above) to which this woman, again, didn't comprehend. I told her I would read what was sent to me about making an appt. As I was reading to her what was sent to me, she hung up on me. I then called and asked to speak to the gm of the dealership. I left a message for him to call me back. No such call-back has happened. Is this a tactic that's employed on a regular basis? I contacted Toyota's corporate rep and gave that person the actions I went through. She said she'd forward this issue to the customer relations person at the dealership. I, again, doubt I will be contacted. If I do, I'm sure I'll get some b. S. To protect that employee, as is done by police to protect their own. I want some action and I'm hoping this message will find its way to a source which will look into this.

The air bag warning lamp went off around 145k miles while I was driving. Went to a fred anderson Toyota charleston, SC and the advisor stated that it was just the lamp and that the airbag is still functional. Approximately after 200 miles, the light reappeared, but as the Toyota advisor stated it was still functional, I ignored it. At my next check up at leith Toyota raleigh, nc. (153,953 miles) the advisor at that time told me that it was a failed spiral cable assembly. Come to find out there actually has been recalls on the spiral cable assembly. As stated in the Toyota recall ("the steering column assembly in the involved vehicles contains a spiral cable assembly with electrical connections to the driver¿s airbag module that could become damaged when the steering wheel is turned. If this occurs, the air bag warning lamp will illuminate. In addition, the driver¿s air bag could become deactivated, causing it to not deploy in the event of a crash"). I just want this to be reviewed promptly considering that the recall that was made did not reach out to my model. This is a life threatening situation that has to be solved immediately and this calls for a recall! these two urls contain the exact situation that I have experienced. Https://techinfo. Toyota.
