Power Train problem #1

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Toyota 4runner. While driving 30 mph, the check engine and track off 4 low indicators appeared. While driving approximately 30 mph, the transmission erroneously switched into the neutral position and the vehicle would no longer accelerate. Also, while operating the vehicle, the instrument panel would not indicate that the transmission was in the neutral or drive positions. The vehicle was taken to graham auto mall (1515 west 4th st, mansfield, OH) where it was diagnosed that the neutral safety switch was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 96,837.

Power Train problem #2

I find the engine (rpm's) tend to accelerate at times when traveling in either going up or down inclines or declines that are minimal. It corrects itself within a few seconds after tapping the brakes. It has happened numerous times, the last one I've noted below.

Power Train problem #3

My '13 te has had a vibration issue become more and more noticable lately. It's probably been happening to some extent for awhile, but now that I'm dealing with slow highway traffic more often, it's much more noticable and violent. Between 5-10mph (and sometimes up to 15mph) the front end shakes violently and eventually spreads to the cabin. I can replicate this at any time I wish on any type of road. Tires are balanced and vehicle is properly aligned. The steering does feel loose and like it's shaking at times while going over bumps or rough roads. So far the shaking happens: in 4wd in 2wd in 1st and 2nd gear in neutral in 4wd neutral under braking under acceleration in neutral with the engine off under braking in neutral with the engine off and in 4wd neutral with the engine off.

Power Train problem #4

When entering highway from acceleration lane, the truck would not accelerate past 45mph. When the pedal was pushed towards the floor when going 45, the engine would lose power and the vehicle would start to decrease in speed. I continued to drive to the next exit 2 miles away and then the power returned to exceed 45 mph. Never repeated the issue until 9/15/13. Same scenario, accelerating onto the highway. Loss of power at 45mph. Had to pull over to the emergency lane as traffic was coming up behind me at 70+mph. Accelerated after a full stop and reentered the highway. The truck then ran normally. Took it to the dealer and they could not duplicate the problem. Dealer stated that if it happened again, they would establish a case with Toyota. I have avoided an accident on both previous occasions but now I have to be conscious of avoiding other traffic at any moment. I purchased new to avoid this kind of headache.
