general problems of the 2015 Toyota 4Runner

I was just in my second front end collision and for the second time, my front airbags did not deploy. The first instance, I hit a deer head on going 75 mph on the interstate. Last week, I t-bone f150 at 35mph - hard enough to make that truck spin around - and had injuries to my head, knee, and hand, and yet the airbag did not deploy once again. In both cases, my car sustained over $10,000 and damage to the front end.

My 4 runner was hit on the passenger side while crossing a intersection. The truck that hit my 4 runner was going at least 40 miles per hr and was a heavy duty pickup truck. On impact the airbags did not deploy but the 4 runner went haywire.

The dealership is not responsive to our request to have the car repaired.

Takata recall- called to make appointment to have this issue resolved and the parts to fix recall are on backorder- this is unacceptable.

Clock spring in steering wheel not working. No horn, no airbag . I called Toyota 1-800-331-4331 talked to dominic he said they can not do anything for me.

Needed to use my horn when someone drifted into my lane on the interstate. The horn did not work. I could not honk to inform that driver to stay in his/her lane. Afterwhich, I took it to my Toyota dealer. They diagnosed and discovered the spiral cable had an open circuit. They replaced the spiral cable assembly. From what I remember they told me this cable assembly carried wiring for cruise control, air bags, horn and something else. I do not recall the fourth item.

Letter from senator grassley on behalf of constituent re 2015 Toyota 4 runner subject to recall notice and no settlement. The consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time completing the recall repair.

Takata recall: conflicting information for determining if vehicle is subject to recall. Called auto airbag settlement center and they said aforementioned vehicle was subject to recall and dealers may not yet be aware or have info to call in vehicle. Called dealer and service rep. Indicated they had not notice my vehicle was subject to recall and they could do nothing. This website did not recognize my VIN number when put in at the start, calling my VIN entry as invalid. Within this claim form it recognized my VIN number as valid!? I am unable to determine if vehicle is subject to recall and no notice has been sent to dealer. Meanwhile my family may be subject to serious injury or worse because I am unable to determine if it will be recalled, and when. The whole process overlooks the fact that we do not have total control over the actions of other drivers, and may become involved in an accident. The recall process again represent the concern for the companies involved and not for the safety of the individuals.
