2006 Toyota 4runner check engine light disables traction controll and vehicle stability controll when on. For instance the car needed a gas cap. The contact owns a 2001 Toyota 4runner. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph the traction control light illuminated on the instrument panel, and the vehicle began to pull towards the left. After a few moments, the failure corrected itself. The failure recurred approximately seven times. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or to be repaired. The manufacturer was aware of the failure and advised the contact to call a dealer. The failure mileage was 120,000 and the current mileage was 140,000.
