Two problems related to front seat belt retractor have been reported for the 1996 Toyota Avalon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While passenger was in seat and when bending over to pick something off the floor, seat belt would not retract, causing no protection. Person was seated in middle back seat, Toyota reimbursed consumer.
Seat belt retractor failed.
