Two problems related to front seat recliner have been reported for the 1997 Toyota Avalon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Whenever making turns or changing lanes, the driver's seat would make clicking sound or noise & it moves side ways.
Driver's seat moves when vehicle turns left or right. Movement is disruptive and could lead to an accident. I notified Toyota of the situation at the 5k service and have escalated the problem with their customer service center. Refer to case# 199904211159. I have had repeated conversations with Toyota but none have lead to resolving the movement of the driver's seat.
