One problem related to fuel injector has been reported for the 1998 Toyota Avalon. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The interior of the vehicle fills with gasoline/fuel fumes every time the gas indicator reaches 1/4 of a tank. Totyota dearler replaced fuel injector however this did not resolve the issue.
