Steering Column problems of the 2007 Toyota Avalon

1 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2016

The vehicle speeds up when it want to on it own. The steering column falls all the time. The passaenger seat wont recline at all but will lean back.

2 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2014

Steering placement lock came loose while driving and steering column dropped to lowest level. This has happened 3 other times in city traffic. Trying to tighten the steering placement friction lock only seems to hold temporarily.

3 Steering Column problem

Failure Date: 12/08/2006

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Avalon. Whenever the contact drove at various speeds including 25 mph, he noticed that the steering wheel suddenly fell backwards into the base of the steering column. The dealer stated that the failure could not be reproduced. The current and failure mileages were 52048. Updated 03/04/10.
