1 Accelerator Pedal problem

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Avalon. While driving at approximately 15 mph with his foot depressed on the brake pedal, the contact stated that the vehicle suddenly surged forward until repeated pressure was applied to the brakes. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed there was a software problem. The vehicle was repaired and the failure had not recurred at the time of the complaint. 2 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 01/01/1901

2010 Toyota Avalon. Consumer expresses discontent with recalls the consumer stated two unrelated recalls are on the same recall notice. The consumer requested that the brake/throttle reprogramming be done, but he does not want the pedal modification done as he believed it would cause a safety issue. The consumer stated presently, the pedal clearance to the floor is 1 3/4 inches and the pedal length is only 4 inches long in the vehicle. The floor mat is positively secured. The pedal/floor mat is not a safety interference condition.
