Latches/locks/linkage problem #1

2011 Toyota Avalon. Consumer writes in regards to defective key fob and door locks. The consumer stated the door locks failed intermittently. The key fob at times would only unlock the driver's door. All other doors had to be unlocked manually. More recently, the key fob does not work at all as well as the lock switches. The dealer advised the vehicle needed a new ecm.

Latches/locks/linkage problem #2

I have a new 2011 Toyota Avalon limited with just over 1,700 miles. The telescoping steering wheel lever located under the steering colum has fallen out of the "locked" position five times. When this happens the steering wheel collapses in towards the dash. Toyota dealership says they have not heard of this happening. I, myself, have now found reports by other Avalon owners of the same problem.
