Adaptive Cruise Control Problems of Toyota Avalon

Cruise control stopped working while driving interstate speed. Would not work and all lights on dashboard came on . Proceeded to nearest dealership and was informed that I needed a brake switch. Did not fix the problem. Have been informed that I need a wiring harness! about to spend a total of 400. 00.

05/04/2025 first of all, we love our Avalon. However, for the last 6 months or so, water is getting in the car and ends up soaking the carpet on the left front floorboard carpet. We have checked everything we can think of to find the source of the leak but was uneasily. We had to have some scratches fixed and took the car to a body shop to see if they could find the source of the leak. They sprayed water on the sunroof for about an hour but no water leaked inside. We have also taken the car to the local Toyota dealership (sheehy Toyota in the fredericksburg area, they could not find the source of the leak. It rained here (fredericksburg, va last night and the left front floorboard was soaked. I need help finding the source of the leak(s) so we can continue enjoying our Avalon. Stopped working with a message ' radar control in not available'.

On 3 lane expressway (us422)about 1/4 mile from where the lanes split( see attached). No cars in front of me but cars in the lane to my left slowed. My car suddenly braked causing the car behind me to swerve to my right to avoid a collision. The adaptive breaking (incorrectly) determined that there was a collision hazard, thus creating an actual collision hazard.

The contact owns a 2019 Toyota Avalon. The contact stated that the dynamic cruise control had become inoperable. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the dynamic cruise control malfunctioned and the automatic emergency braking activated and the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. The contact stated that the failure was worse while driving in inclement weather. The vehicle was taken to scott clark Toyota (13052 marie garris rd, matthews, nc 28105) to be test driven. While being test driven along with the technician, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
