13 Seat Belt problem of the 2004 Toyota Avalon

Failure Date: 08/22/2016

I tried twice to get a safety recall fixed by koons Toyota tysons corner after receiving a notice from Toyota that there was a safety recall on my Toyota Avalon (recall 15v-043). Twice the dealer told me they would have to inspect the car to see if it needed a remedy to the recall and only after an inspection would they order parts. I brought it in the first time, they said it did need the recall and they would order the parts. They never did. When I tried to schedule it again, they told me the same story that I had to bring it in for an inspection and then they would decide if they could order the parts. It is ridiculous to go through such terrible customer service, and so therefore the recall has not been remedied yet.

14 Seat Belt problem of the 2004 Toyota Avalon

Failure Date: 02/16/2016

Toyota has issued a recall for the supplemental restraint system and electronic control unit in March 2015. My car's airbag light is illuminated intermittently and the Toyota dealer recommends the ecu be replaced. I have been in contact with Toyota and my call has been escalated several times but they still are not fixing my car. Toyota says that there is no remedy available. I am very concerned about my airbags deploying accidentally. I do not feel that Toyota is taking my safety or my family's safety seriously. The recall I received clearly states that they know how to fix the problem "replacement of the srs ecu is now also required for this safety recall to be complete," it just seems that they won't. It has been almost a year that I have been driving a car in which I am not confident. Please make Toyota execute this recall in a more timely manner.

15 Seat Belt problem of the 2004 Toyota Avalon

Failure Date: 02/04/2016

2004 Toyota Avalon -receive a notice of a problem with the supplemental restraint system(srs) electronic control unit (ecu). The original "fix" for this problem (deemed an "urgent safety recall" by Toyota) was announced in Mar, 2014. It was later found that this "fix" did not do the job. A 2nd recall (dated Jan 27th, 2015)was issued. To date, the recall has a status of "remedy not available". I consider this to be reprehensible!! the recall id is 15v043. I have called Toyota on several occasions and I get the same response. . . . "we will contact you when a remedy is available. ".

17 Seat Belt problem of the 2014 Toyota Avalon

Failure Date: 02/06/2015

The pre-collision system abruptly and for no apparent reason activated on a freeway in charleston, SC. No car or other obstruction was in front of the vehicle. A disorienting loud alarm began, the seat belts forced us into our seats and immobilized us, and the vehicle did a panic braking maneuver-it could not have braked more forcefully. If someone had been behind us we would have been killed. The dealership found no anomaly. They gave us a list of 13 different highway situations that could cause this. None of them are uncommon. This system is very dangerous and is going to get someone killed. I have disabled mine. Your agency should require that they be disabled and not installed in other vehicles until this fatal flaw is overcome.

23 Seat Belt problem of the 2005 Toyota Avalon

Failure Date: 03/11/2014

The airbag on the drivers side near floor upon impact broke my ankle. The auto hit on the passengers front side. The accident happened when I tried to avoid hitting a cat and hit a telephone pole. To the best of my knowledge the impact should not have been so severe as to break the ankle causing a plate, rod, and several screws to be placed in the ankle, both sides had stitches approximately 8 to 12 inches. Now recently I had to have some of the hardware removed, causing me to lose more time from work. I have complete set of pictures of auto and surgery.

32 Seat Belt problem of the 1999 Toyota Avalon

Failure Date: 11/22/2008

Serious problem with front passenger seat belt: I had shoulder surgery and had to put the shoulder strap across my back so that it wouldn't cross my bad shoulder. So, we get to our destination and I start to get out of the car and forget I still have the seatbelt on. My wife gets back in and releases it, and I go to get out and the damned thing won't pull out/loose. Since the idiot thing thinks it's protecting me, I push a little of it back into the slot assuming it will then release. Nooooo! it just gets tighter. We start the car to see if that releases it. Nooooo! every time I move it just gets tighter. A freaking boa constrictor could take lessons from this thing. After it's abundantly clear that the seatbelt has won, and I'm bound up like a thanksgiving turkey, we get the scissors and cut it loose. The Toyota engineers really blew this design. Several folks have said they've had the same problem, especially with kids in car seats. Actually, this problem could be kind of dangerous if you're in an accident.

33 Seat Belt problem of the 2002 Toyota Avalon

I purchased a certified used car from ira Toyota and since I've owned it 4 things have never worked: 1. The seat belts always stick and have been replaced and still do not work. 2. The driver's seat does not move forward and back. The dealer looked at it more than twice and still will not fix it. 3. The steering wheel does not turn smoothly and the dealer does not know why. 4. The vehicle continuously turns to the left, even after all new, superior wheels and tires, new struts and two front end alignments. The dealer: ira Toyota could find nothing wrong.
