One problem related to engine grinding noise has been reported for the 1997 Toyota Camry. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Wheels locked up on two occasions; one on a stop, and the other on a wet pavement. Also noticed grinding sound coming from front wheels. Vehicle hesitateing while stopping. Dealer / manufacturer notified.
