One problem related to hatchback/liftgate support device has been reported for the 1998 Toyota Camry. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Doors will not close completely unless they are slammed shut. Dealer contacted and is aware of the problem, states the design of the vehicle, cannot duplicate the problem. Problem still exists.
