Two problems related to steering tie rod assembly have been reported for the 1999 Toyota Camry. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The consumer stated that the outer tie rod separated from the steering shaft which resulted in loss of steering. The threads are corroded on the steering shaft and the tie rod on the driver side. The tie rod threads were not apparent to vision when inspected. This was a known problem.
While parking vehicle right tire came off the rim. Mechanic stated tie rod needed replacement.
