Other Fuel System problem #1

I want to see if the are recalls for my car ?.

Other Fuel System problem #2

When making a right turn and braking suddenly as in a busy parking lot, the engine will accelerate with a loud roar while my foot is solely on the brake and I franticly shift to neutral. Sometimes on a curved road with a traffic light the engine will accelerate while my foot is on the brake trying to slow the car for a red light. This has happend numerous times.

Other Fuel System problem #3

Am experiencing sludge build up in the engine of my 2000 Toyota Camry solara. This vehicle was a previously owned when I purchased it on March 17, 2016. At time of purchase I requested a carfax report. My choice to purchase was made upon report details I. E. Repair & maintenance records, including routine oil changes. The carfax report specified all preventative maintenance had been applied to this vehicle and was up to date. There were no known manufacture recalls and/or issues on this vehicle. At the time of purchase I was unaware of any troublesome issues on this make & model, nor with its engine model. After my own extensive research before shopping for my 2nd preowned Toyota I never did come across any such information regarding problems/recalls & would have never made this purchase. I have always been a Toyota fan & am very displeased with the engine sludge problems I later discovered and also the fact that the dealership which sold me this preowned Toyota covered up & provided me with a false carfax report. I have my proof of routine oil changes + the carfax report showing all previous owners(2) also made routine oil changes. I feel I am a victim of a manufactures default in this engine model. I have owned my preowned Toyota for only 5 months and for the last 2 months I have had it sitting in my driveway due to ongoing engine troubles I am unable to tend to financially & do not wish to do any further damage to it. I am greatly disappointed. Deborah a. Banks.

Other Fuel System problem #4

Car speeds up and surges and I smell fuel when idling. On 2 occasions I had trouble stopping the vehicle. Once ran stop sign before I could get it stopped. Happened again may 22, 2015!.

Other Fuel System problem #5

My 2000 Camry is also in need of a replacement charcoal canister for the emissions system. My check engine light has been on for about 6 years because of it. I do not wish to pay the $400 to have it replaced when the car is running just fine. This has been an issue with a large number of early 2000's Camrys.

Other Fuel System problem #6

This is in regards to a previous odi complaint that I filed on 3/5/2010. The odi number 10316956. I just wanted to add that this 2000 Toyota Camry has a standard (manual) shift transmision so when the acceleration happened we just pushed in the clutch and coasted to a stop. Turned ignition key off, pumped the gas pedal a few times, and started the car. It was fine then. This has happened to myself maybe 8 times.

Other Fuel System problem #7

I purchased a used 2000 Toyota Camry from a friend 2 yrs. Ago. My friend, original owner, had problems with the car accelerating on its own & even went as far as to buy a new accelerator cable assy. On the recommendation of the Toyota dealer 3/17/06. They said that would fix the problem. I have also had the same problem since I have owned the car. Since the publicity about this problem neither my friend nor I have put the cable assy. On for fear of more problems. Toyota doesn't seem to know how to fix the problem. I still have the accelerator cable assy. In the original sealed bag & I still have the problem.

Other Fuel System problem #8

I own a 2000 Toyota Camry xle, which has 51. 565 miles. On July 31, 2004 the check engine light came on. I called the dealer and brought the car in to be checked on August 04, 2004. The service department told me it was the fuel evaporator valve that needs to be replaced and would cost approximately $220, but they need to order the part, so we set another appointment to have the part replaced on August 10, 2004. I picked the car up today (July 31, 2004) and paid $114. 50 for the diagnostics (I am hoping my next bill will be around $110 so I do not go to far over the estimated price, but looking at the bill they are estimating $99. 07 to install and 48. 85 for the part so I am guessing I will be well over the $220 price quoted). My invoice says that the check engine light code is "p0446 was present for evap system trace to vent control malfunction special order vsv control approx 99. 07 to install". I then went out to the web to determine exactly what this part is and I discovered many complaints of this nature on the web. Most of them were told they needed to replace the valve and canister for a price around $550. By looking at the number of complaints on the web relating to this issue (most of them when the car reaches approximately 55,000 miles) I decided to file this in the hopes that this part will eventually become a recall, since there seems to be so many issues.
