Am experiencing sludge build up in the engine of my 2000 Toyota Camry solara. This vehicle was a previously owned when I purchased it on March 17, 2016. At time of purchase I requested a carfax report. My choice to purchase was made upon report details I. E. Repair & maintenance records, including routine oil changes. The carfax report specified all preventative maintenance had been applied to this vehicle and was up to date. There were no known manufacture recalls and/or issues on this vehicle. At the time of purchase I was unaware of any troublesome issues on this make & model, nor with its engine model. After my own extensive research before shopping for my 2nd preowned Toyota I never did come across any such information regarding problems/recalls & would have never made this purchase. I have always been a Toyota fan & am very displeased with the engine sludge problems I later discovered and also the fact that the dealership which sold me this preowned Toyota covered up & provided me with a false carfax report. I have my proof of routine oil changes + the carfax report showing all previous owners(2) also made routine oil changes. I feel I am a victim of a manufactures default in this engine model. I have owned my preowned Toyota for only 5 months and for the last 2 months I have had it sitting in my driveway due to ongoing engine troubles I am unable to tend to financially & do not wish to do any further damage to it. I am greatly disappointed. Deborah a. Banks.
When you are at a full stop or at a red light, or stop and go traffic. When you start to mash the gas pedal down the car does not move. Everyone is moving beside you and behind you and you are lucky if you don't get rear ended. So far we have been lucky. When you keep trying it will finally go. It will jerk you head back sometimes. So I thought it might be the cable on the speed control going bad. Sticking or whatever. I am not a specilist on saying what it my be. But it does need to be repaired.
Unexpected accelerations with my 2000 Toyota Camry le. On December 11, 2014, my granddaughter (who was driving my vehicle), was sitting at a red light with her foot on the brake pedal. While sitting at the light, the car started rolling forward. She pressed down further on the brake, and noticed it slowed but did not come to a complete stop. She applied additional pressure on the brake and the car came to a stop. All of a sudden, and without warning, the car jerked forward as if someone had hit the car from the back causing my vehicle to strike the car in front of her. She looked into her rear-view mirror and realized there was no one behind her. After getting over the initial shock of the event, my granddaughter was able to exit the car to see what had happened. She explained to the other driver the unexpected acceleration while her foot was on the brake pedal, to which the other driver expressed having experienced the same problem (accelerated without notice) with the same make, model and year Toyota Camry. I have been the single owner of this 2000 Toyota Camry le since 2000 and my Camry has been to the Toyota service department for service on three different occasions because of an issue with the throttle. Each time the throttle was cleaned instead of replaced. Has been reported to manufacturer with no resolution. On December 29, 2014 I had my Toyota Camry towed to marietta Toyota and the issue has been reported to marietta Toyota in marietta, georgia and to Toyota north America corporate in torrance, California.
I have owned this car for about 5 years; my grandfather gave it to me, so it's only had two owners. Low miles (80,000). I am replacing the driver's exterior door handle for the third time and passenger's exterior for the second time. The exterior handles merely snap off. I wish Toyota would offer replacement handles made of metal rather than plastic. This may eliminate the problem. The state I live in requires a yearly vehicle inspection and due to the broken handles, my car failed yesterday.
The drivers' exterior door handle broke off while my husband was opening the door. I noticed the same thing happened in NHTSA id number: 10720976. Up to now I wasn't sure what to think about it, but after seeing that my car isn't the only one it has happened to I believe it has something to do with the car's components. As far as any injury, his hand was cut when the handle broke off and I can't help but hurt my own hand every time I try to open the drivers' door. It has forced us to enter thru the front passenger door and slide over (which is not pleasant nor comfortable).
My accident/injuries because the defects/flaws of my car: brake systems, accelerator pedal, unintended acceleration, speed out of control, cruise control systems, electronic throttle systems. . . I have the car fixed, repairs sometimes (records at dealership). They replaced computer board. . . But still have a problems. . . My issues are about my Toyota Camry/model 2000 got accident/injuries on oct. 2004 because the car had many problems are: rough of cruise control systems, rough speed/rpm, gas pedal, brake, rough idle, suddenly accelerated - without pressing a gas pedal. I hit the car and my front bumper is almost felt off. It costs over a thousand dollars to replace but my injuries is no money to replace its back to normal, my auto insurance not paying my medical bills any more. . .
