I did the texas inspection test, and my vehicle failed the test, and the report with catalyst, evap, and O2 sens was not completed. I'm wondering what is the problem and how I can fix it. I would like to have my vehicle get checked out and find the problem.
Sold.
The vehicle accelerated and would not stop. The accelerator stuck.
Driving on the freeway, check engine light came on, smoke coming out of the hood, brakes and emergency brake failed, vehicle accelerated on its own (no pedals were working), car crashed and fire engulfed the vehicle.
Please help me. I purchased my car from Toyota superstore in hartford CT February 9,2005 new. The car shuts off while in drive. There are 3 light that comes on; check engine light, the battery and the gas light . This problem has been going on since the first Wednesday of 2013. Ti was an intermittent problem . Now it 21016 and it a frequent annoyance. They did not try to help me with any recall issues. My car has 5 recalled items on this vehicle but all of these were issues that I address out of my pocket. You issued those recall after my monies were spent to carry on diagnostics, and the changing of parts that had no bearing on the problem. While customer like myself spend and spend and spend. This car was $30,000 and because I had done a trade in unfairly good condition. I was able to to get it for $2000 less. I need your intervention in the matter. I am certain I am not the only one in America with this issue. It is appalling that Toyota make these defective vehicles and sell them with the hopes that at 100,00 miles you are going to have to get rid of the vehicle because it begins to break on you. No one in America is willing to drive a car like mine, but I cannot do any better. My family keeps saying I should get rid of the car because the money I am spending on it come buy a new one but I cannot afford car payment right now. My economics is not the best. When I purchased this vehicle I did so believing that this vehicle would last a considerably long time. My confidence was based on the reputation of a company that had integrity and wholesome family values. I am reliant on a car to get me from point a to b. I take my client to see houses and I need a good functioning car to conduct business. I need a good functioning car to make money. I need a well functioning car to take care of my safety on the roadway at nights. Please intervene in this matter.
Car suddenly accelerated as my wife camille pulled in driveway. Called wills Toyota of twin falls and was told floor mat in the way of accelerator objective impossible when looked at. Looked on line with issues lead to filling out complaint.
The car now has approximately 80,000 miles on it - for at least the last 35,000 miles, it's had a problem with either stalling or not restarting after the engine's turned off (often, several incidents will occur in rapid succession, after which the car will function properly for months). Stalling tends to occur when the car is decelerating and coming to a stop - if adequate speed can be maintained, the engine will sputter but won't shut down. In my opinion the stalling and failure to restart problems are connected and I've read of other Camry owners who've been confronted with this issue. Unfortunately, after an incident nothing registers on the car's computer, so mechanics really don't where to start in diagnosing the problem and formulating a possible fix. My car's been meticulously cared for and I've put a lot of money into trying to solve this problem, but nothing has worked so far - the car has been taken to a Toyota dealer and to an independent mechanic. I've contacted Toyota headquarters about the problem, but they're unwilling to address it, even though I've told them my online searches have revealed other owners with the same problem. I've also told Toyota that were I to explore trading-in the vehicle (with full disclosure), I have no doubt a dealer would accept it and pass it on to an unsuspecting buyer. I'm convinced there's a fairly widespread problem Toyota's unwilling to address.
This report is not in reference to the vehicle, it is an issue with tires. I put on a set of michelin primacy mxv4 205/60r16 92h in feburary of 2012, and after the second year found the material hardening and with low traction, wet or dry (worse wet of course) and when I contacted michelin about this was told no warranty exists in regards to traction. I found uncomfortable with control of my vehicle and changed the tires. Serial numbers on the tires were: hn7rpk1x4911, hn7rpk1x01122, hn7rpk1x4611, hn7rpk1x5111 I am no longer in possession of the tires, they were left with costco in melville, NY. I want to report this in case these tires are in question in any other incident.
I had trouuble shifting my automatic transmission from park to reverse. It would not engage. I had it in reverse but the car would not move. After a few tries it engaged. I slowly drove a couple blocks to rossi's auto service and left it for the weekend. I learned it was low on transmission fluid and there was absolutely no sign anywhere of any leakage. I had it serviced at salinas Toyota on 01/22/15 for an oil change and the front brakes. I returned 02/03/15 to have a front engine mount installed. On 02/27/2015 it was missing apporximately a quart of transmission fluid with a few minor metal found in the dirty fluid. I've spoken numerous times with rossi's and salinas Toyota and they have spoken to each other. No one can figure out where the transmission fluid went. The salinas Toyota assistant service manager has tried to find an answer but has not been able to. I need this explained or solved in order to feel safe driving this car. I do not want to take a chance on being stranded in the middle of nowhere. I would appreciate any help making sure I am safe driving this vehicle.
I was driving southbound on lakeshore dr when with no warning of a turn signal a tow truck driver cut me off and slowed almost to a complete stop. I had no choice but to brace for impact as I stomped down on my brakes. The entire front end of my car was totalled as the front right end of my car made impact with the left rear end of his tow truck. After the dist settled I looked around and realized that no airbags deployed. I found this realization extremely alarming, not only for the chest pain that I was experiencing on my right side which I felt was from my chest hitting the steering wheel (even thought I was indeed wearing my seatbelt) but because earlier this year Toyota had come out with a recall list, and when I called to find out if my car was on the recall list I was told no. I don't know how my car was looked over but this is a situation that should be immediately rectified. Thank god my situation wasn't worse than it was and my 5 year old son was not in the car, but there are others on the road who may not meet the same outcome.
Car was having problems with acceleration(sluggish) and would die when car came to a stop. Mostly happened when exiting highways, then happened during normal driving. The car would idle very roughly and die if gas pedal wasn't depressed. If car sat for a while, then it would start up and run just fine. Had it into the shop several times, but unless the problem was currently happening, it couldn't be diagnosed. The problem is the idol throttle body(seems like there are many many complaints about this part). The cost of the part was $1014. 45(ridiculous). Labor $68. What's going on? Toyota is failing to provide a good quality product and I have lost confidence in their product. Look into this matter. People's lives are at stake, especially if people don't realize you are stalled and run into you. I've been scared for my life several times.
This vehicle (and many other solara's) seems to have issues with the acceleration. At times, the car accelerates a little bit by itself. It has never caused me to crash or anything major, but I've had to hit the brakes real hard because its taken me by surprise. This mainly happens when I'm not moving, for example, when I'm waiting at a red light. The car makes noises that technicians have not been able to properly diagnose. I am the third owner of this 2002 Toyota solara and I have a report from the original owner dating back to 2002. This owner describes weird noises coming from the driver's side but that Toyota was not able to diagnose the problem. As it seems, this car has been having issues with unexplainable noises since its day of manufacture. I've been replacing many things on the car thinking because of age it is making such noises, but noises persist.
I drove up in front of mosses town hall building in lowndes county al as I tried to put on brakes to park the car it begin to accelerate and jump the parking bumps and hit the building knocking down the wall of bricks and that's when it stopped. I immediately got out of the car and looked and took a look. There were person in the other side of the building who ran out to see were I okay. This was the first and I hope the last incident I had with the car.
I received a letter in the mail stating there was a recall for my sunroof made by webasto. The serial number of my sunroof is between the range of 6000000 to 6396298. I would like to have it replaced if that is the case, please.
The contact owns a 2002 Toyota Camry. The driver was involved in a crash in may 2009. The contact drove 3 mph in her driveway and turned her vehicle around when the vehicle accelerated up to 40 mph on its own and crashed into a fence. The driver was thrown from the car into her neighbors yard. The driver was very sore from the crash but did not go to the hospital. The dealer stated that they would document the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 19,000. The current mileage was 20,000.
I bought a new camery Toyota 2002 in 2002 at dave edwards in spartanburg SC after 5years the cadilac inverter needed to be replaced so I had the dealership install a new one in 2007 and now 9 years later it needs to be replaced again it sounds to me this particular part have to be defective I ask a couple of div mechanics and they told me that it is rare that two Cadillac inverter go bad most of the time it outlast a car. My '02 Toyota Camry xle has 115,530 miles on the odometer and I have had to replace all four tires four times over this period (details below). At this point, firestone believes the problem lies with the engineering of the car somehow because their maintenance log supports the fact that I have given these tires the proper care (regular alignment checks, tire balance/rotation every 4k miles, and maintaining proper air pressure) and they are no longer willing to honor tire warranties for this vehicle because each time the tires are replaced, they are under the warranty. They claim that the probability of the problem lying with the tires is virtually impossible, given this tire history. Here are the details of dates, odometer readings, and tire details each time they were replaced: first set replaced 10/3/04 with 26,712 miles on odometer (with firestone 106879 affinity lh30 p215/60r16 tlbl ps). Second set replaced 9/1/06 with 49,619 miles on odometer (with bridgestone 109355 turanza LS-t w/uni-t aw bl p215/60r16 94t 80,000 warranty). Third set replaced with 91,000 miles on odometer (misplaced paperwork on details, but can provide from firestone database if needed). Fourth set replaced 7/23/13 with 115,530 on odometer (with bridgestone 147127 turanza w. Serenity plus bl 215/60r16 95v 75,000 warranty).
