The contact owns a 2002 Toyota Camry. While driving 30 mph, the overhead compartment directly above the rearview mirror came down and struck the contact in the eye. The glasses she was wearing prevented the injury from being severe. The contact pulled off the road and learned that the cover to the compartment and the mechanism that controls the sunroof failed. She was able to close the compartment until she returned home, but it would not completely latch back together. The sunroof has never been used. The current and failure mileages were 54,000. When I step on the brake pedal of my 2002 Camry xle, the pedal can be depressed to such an extent that my foot also rests on the gas pedal causing the engine to rev up and the car not to stop as expected. This has occurred 3 times since I bought the car. Date below is approximate. The interior rearview mirror is an auto dimming type and does not have a manual device to orient the mirror when driving at night. The consumer states the mirror does not dim sufficiently (or at all) to prevent annoying glare from the headlights of following vehicles. The mirror must be manually tilted at night causing loss of mirror use.
