Electronic Stability Control problem #2

Vsc warning light, vehicle stability control warning, trac warning light, traction control warning. Engine sputters on acceleration, feel shifts in drivetrain, from full stop at red light. Engine stall has not happened yet but engine seems to want to dye. Shifting in the drivetrain seems to slip and break while accelerating. Lights remain on after startup, with standard check engine.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

When car moving in a little up hill at 25 mph with accelerator slightly depress engine surged forward suddenly losing control of the vehicle rolling out of the road an crash in a concrete barrier resulting driver injured and the front end of the car body damaged. At the moment of the incident the car continued moving forward dragging the brakes that were fully applied to try to stop the car. A witness driving behind the car saw all the stop lights of the car blinking but the car continued moving forward instead of stopping. The current and failure mileages were approximately 48916.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

Apparently in this vehicle when the oxygen sensors fail they also cause a fault in the vehicle's traction and stability control which disables the system. We have repeatedly replaced the oxygen sensors only in an effort to restore the traction control systems for the sake of safety. There is little sense in tying safety systems to emissions control systems and the repair shop says this is a common problem. It is unfair to have to pay $600 to replace oxygen sensors in order to restore a safety system . . . And the oxygen sensors fail repeatedly.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at approximate speeds of 70 mph, the vehicle started swaying from left to right without warrant. The dealer advised there were no failure found within the vehicle but did advise that one of the tires were defective. The contact had all four tires replaced on the vehicle and an alignment yet the failure persisted. The contact believed the failure to be caused by a defect in the electronic stability control (esc). The failure and current mileages were approximately 55,000.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6) I purchased a certified used Toyota car (vehicle VIN: [xxx]) on 12/22/2008 from fremont Toyota dealer ([xxx]), which leads a nightmare as it's a wrecked cert. Rejected car with 2 tire valve stems broken on day 1 and day 8 after purchase and another 2 tires flat again on may 10 1. The rear right tire valve stem broke on 12/23/2008 (the first day after purchase) and the tire pressure monitoring system indicator (tpws) was on so I drove the car to the service department on 12/24/2008. Dealer claim they fixed the problem and also checked all the other tires and make sure they are working. 2. On 1/1/2009, the front right tire valve stem broke again and the tpws was not on. This happened when we drove on highway 5 at 75 miles/hour and we don't even know the tire already 2/3 was flattened!! we happened to look for restaurant at that time and a person coming out of restaurant pointed to us this flat tire! if we did not exit for rest, all 5 passengers in the car could no longer be in this world now. 3. Further complete discovery on this car reveals: a. Bondo was applied on the following areas: left fender on rear behind wheel opening area; right door from upper center to bottom of door; and, rt quarter panel in front of wheel opening area the amount of bondo applied to the subject vehicle, clearly indicates the damage/wreck/repair in these areas were extensive. B. Sand scratched and dirt under paint are obvious in many areas, this is the result of a poor quality re-paint job. The re-paint of the vehicle is further evidenced by the paint mil gauge readings from 8 miles to 12 miles. This matches kearny mesa Toyota's 160 point rejection. C. The paint job alone estimate (not including the body repair) was over $2200 and yet was this re-paint was not reported. The faulty paint job is a known defect to anyone that looks at the vehicle in the automotive industry. D. The right fender was previously removed. And more.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Heard a thumping noise in the drive shaft of the steering wheel. It would not go away, took the car to the Toyota dealer to look at. My car has always been serviced by a Toyota dealer there is a part in the drive shaft that links to the control arm of the wheels, this part has failed and could have caused me to loose control of the steering wheel and disabled my ability to turn my wheels, and cause a deadly accident, Toyota motor corp, has failed to notify there customers of this TSB bulletin, and this is a safety hazard. I cannot believe that this is not a recall item. I spoke with the dealer and they have had over 100 and 1000's of 2005 Camry's with this problem. Yet nothing has been done. Does someone need to be killed or Toyota sued to have this part replaced. The part in the drive shaft failed, there is a TSB on this, but Toyota refused to fix this due to that my car has over 36k miles on it, and under 50k, not one person at the Toyota dealership would fix this for me, without charging me, yet this part has been put on a TSB bulletin. The dealership nor Toyota did not inform me of this situation. This should be a recalled item. I have my car service at Toyota dealerships and I am the original owner, yet the lack of Toyota to due something about this, is irresponsible. This was the first time I took my car to priority Toyota, because the service being provided by the other Toyota dealerships in the area was Subaru. I do not blame priority Toyota for not fixing the problem, in fact they were the very first dealership to identify the problem. The other Toyota dealerships in the area failed to address this issue, even though I took my car to these other dealerships for service. First team Toyota was the main dealer that serviced my car when there was less than 36k miles on it. I use to bring it to them and have them check everything, and the only TSB they told me about was the belt pulley, TSB, when I asked if there were any others, they said that was it.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

We purchased a 2005 Toyota Camry in 2005. The first day I drove it the car hesitated on acceleration to change lanes it was lucky that it didn't cause a wreck. I took the car back to the dealership (I don't remember why) but I asked them to check it and the guy I talked to just said it was because of the fuel injection. The guy didn't offer to check it, he just made that statement. The hesitation happens any time and it always feels like someone is going to rear end us while the car is deciding what it wants to do. On the freeways in California people go 70 miles an hour that makes it a hazard to drive a Toyota on the freeway. The Toyota also has a mind of its own, sometimes when I have my foot on the brake preparing to stop the engine seems to be trying to override the brake to keep going. It feels like the car is trying to increase the speed when I am trying to slow down. I have been concerned about it but I just figured Toyota was not going to do anything about it. Now my husband does not want me to drive the Toyota.
