I was driving my car when suddenly the speedometer started going from 0-60 back and forth, the rpms was all over the place, the brake light came on and stayed on and the lights was going from bright to dim, there was a couple more lights aluminized on my dash. After googling the problem that nearly caused me and my children to crash, there is so many people affected by this same problem in the 2007 Toyota Camry. Why hasn't this been recalled or class auctioned. Also my dash board is sticky like tar.
Low beam lights are too dim to see at night.
Dashboard is wearing touble. Its sticky and all cracked up.
Red airbag alert indicator has come on. The car was not in motion. The engine was off, and whern I started it, the light came on!.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the gear lever failed to shift from park into reverse until after several attempts. The failure recurred numerous times. On a separate occasion, the vehicle failed to start and the battery was replaced but the failure persisted. An independent mechanic replaced the brake stop light switch but the vehicle began to emit smoke. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable. Djr.
Driving at night got stopped by NJ state trooper for having drivers light out. Flipped light handle on and off light came back on. Ten minutes later had the same problem.
We bought the car new off the show room floor in 2008 the left head light stop working $375. 00 to replace this is with me doing the work. In 2014 the right head light stop working I went to Toyota and ask if any one was having a problem with this and was there a recall on it was told no. This time it was $500. 00 to fix the problem and this was me doing the work after looking at the web site looks as if Toyota has a problem and does not want to address it I see other people have the same problem. Is it going to take someone getting killed to get them to look into the problem and fix it.
The riders side front low beam head light operates intermittently. We received a fix it ticket; but the light worked the next day and got the ticket signed off. However the riders side low beam light continues to work and not work intermittently. Out mechanic told us the high intensity light module needs to be replaced. It seems to me this is a safety issue Toyota should address.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota solara. The contact stated that the head lights would sporadically fail, making it difficult for the contact to see the roadway while driving. The contact indicated that turning the head light switch off and on would correct the defect temporarily before recurring. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic, who replaced the light bulbs for the head lights but the defect was not remedied. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 65,000.
The dashboard of my Toyota is falling apart. It is a safety hazard as it contains the passanger air bag. Additionally, the glare caused by the shine is very distracting both day and night as sunlight and lights reflect and blind the driver. I believe warranties should cover anything that is a defective part and that's what this is, a defective part, if a part is defective when you manufacturer the car or whether it fails within warranty or out of warranty it shouldn't make any difference. " I and other drivers feel the defect is unsafe, and shine a light on the issue with videos taken from their point of view. Now we've learned the safety issues may go even deeper. "because this dashboard has the airbag inside on the passenger side I wouldn't feel safe in a car that had a cracked dash," explained stewart. "anything that would make an airbag go off too soon or go off too late would be very serious. ".
The day time running lights do not shut off when the ignition is off. The only temporary resolution was to disconnect the battery so that the battery would not die.
Hi, the front panel lights of Toyota Camry 2007 are too bright and there is no adjustment point where the drivers can control the brightness. The light is too bright that it distracts the view in the night driving also it makes the eyes tired so quickly. . Toyota should help to fix this problem . .
Drivers side low beam (hid) for my 2007 toyt solara sport 4cyl has been turning off. I'm unsure if this is the sign of ithe bulb going out or if it is simply shutting off. It comes back on and has been working, then it will happen again.
The passenger side headlamp turns off after approx. Two minutes. I can turn the lights off then back on and the light will come back on. Then approx. 2 minutes later it will turn off again. I have replaced the bulb twice already. Toyota stated they can take a look at it to try to determine the problem, but they want to charge me for it. I believe this is a safety defect and not normal wear and tear.
1) front headlamps burn weak and plastic lens covers yellowed over time, latter problem of which is that lenses can't be cleaned by either commercial auto solvents or by local mechanic, creating safety hazard for driving at night. Price quoted for parts alone via Toyota is $818 for headlamp set, plus labor. I have owned 2 other Camry models and never had any issue with headlamp obfuscation due to lens material or bulb composition. This vehicle's headlamp lens composition is filmy to cloudy to naked eye in daylight, not nearly crystal clear as when new. . Even if bulbs were replaced the lens would obscure radius and length of headlamp for any night distance driving other than heavily lit streets. Must use high beams at night when possible and when not hazard to oncoming drivers. Even high beam distance dull. Noticed while driving on highway and other cars illuminate their own pathway far better than my own. Night time driving on rural, semi-rural, county, suburban or unlighted state and local highways in particular are a hazard. 2) engine has regularly burned 1 quart of oil about every 1,000 miles since car had clocked 60k miles. Underwent oil test under extended recall bulletin via Toyota and it deemed car within specs (time of year and type of oil can vary amount of oil burned but recommended 5w20 results in 2-3 quarts a month burned off, no leaks, 75% highway driving. ). Bigger issue is oil can get dangerously low (at least quarter inch below dipstick low level) and no dashboard warning light comes on. Oil levels must be checked manually at least weekly and/or at fill-up to ensure oil tank has enough oil. Generally have been adding 2 to 3 quarts a month. Despite tech bulletin recommendations, Toyota says I am ineligible for mechanical remediation. Car currently runs and has 160k miles +/- on it. Date below is approximate for 60k mileage. .
The quality of low beam lights for night driving is insufficient for driving. I have complained to my Toyota dealership in baytown TX and their recommendations of cleaning the lenses and replacing the bulbs has had no effect. High beams work fine. My first complaint was in 2008 and every time I brought the car in for maintenance, etc. Maintenance. I'm afraid for my life at night when it is inconvenient to use my high beams. For curtesy sake my spouse refuses to use the high beams on the numerous farm market roads we drive at night but I am in the passenger seat where the black horse or cow or god forbid a person will emerge. Pmy spouse and sons all agree it's a major problem. Please help me. I would get rid of my Camry but I am still waiting for the dash recall to happen. Toyota is impossible to deal with. I don't know how I can provide pictures of the inferior low beam lighting. With my health issues I doubt if I would survive an accident due to this problem.
