Hi, in my car vsc light is always on, I got it scan as well but it doesn't show any code for vsc and abs systems. Toyota dealership also don't give any information about the codes. It's kind of very dangerous to drive with all the lights on the cluster. Thank you.
As soon as I drove this car off the lot, the "tire balance" light came on. The tires were low so I put air in them and the light is still on. The front bumper skirt scrapes on every dip in the road it seems, sounding horrible. Then, it got caught on a parking stop which loosened the skirt so it now hangs even lower and scrapes bottom over every crack in the road.
The tire pressure sensor is always on, especially when the temperature drops. After having tire pressure checked things are usually ok for a day or two and then they are back to pressure sensor illuminating. This is a very common and known problem with Toyota and Lexus. This has been happening since 2010 when the vehicle was as purchased.
1)body- the body of the vehicle (paint) seems to be chipping and/or rusting at an increasingly rapid rate with no known causes. This rusting is causing the value of the car to plummet as I am trying to sell the vehicle. It first appeared in about 2019 and has been getting steadily worse without any way to stop it. 2) suspension- on every single Toyota I’ve owned (4) the struts wore very quickly and are not a cheap fix. I had to at one point, fix them more than once in the same vehicle. I was told by the repair tech that it is a common issue seen in Toyotas. If a strut goes while driving it can cause major safety issues for the driver. 3)wheels- the hubcaps more specifically speaking, on every Toyota I’ve owned, have also had an issue maintaining its hubcaps. One rolled off on the highway and nearly caused me to crash as it hit the side of my car and slid under the rear tires and made me slide all over the snowy highway. Luckily there weren’t many vehicles on the road or it could’ve been catastrophic. I also notice that the light for the tire pressure never turns off either. I can fill the tires, empty the tires, it does not matter, the light will never go off.
Check vsc system.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry solara. The contact discovered bubbles on the wheels of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to dealer where it was diagnosed that all wheels may fail and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 122,000. The VIN was not available.
I was driving down a hill about 5mph because it was snowing and there were cars infront of me. I was slowly pressing the brake and then the brake pedal got stuck and I couldnt control the brake, the wheels had locked to and I kept on sliding and I went head on in an SUV. Car is totaled and I sustained neck, back, knee, and shoulder injuries. And also I dont know if there was a fire but after the airbags deployed there was a lot of smoke coming from everywhere.
A low noise like the vehicle was being driven in a lower gear than drive. The vehicle was taken to david maus Toyota. The service advisor stated the right front wheel bearing and hub were bad. I questioned a wheel bearing going out at 14000 miles. The service advisor said we should drive the car more. I contacted the Toyota distributor who contacted the Toyota service rep. The service rep said due to age Toyota would not repair it. He further stated that the car should be driven more. I took the car to phillips Toyota in leesburg, florida. They checked the vehicle and found both front wheel bearings and one front hub bad. They replaced both bearings and a hub. Since this did not sound like a wheel bearing had it not been found, it could have caused the front wheels to lock up which could have resulted in an accident. There is no mention in any of Toyota's material telling the customer that they should drive the vehicle a specified number of miles during a certain time period.
This all started December 16, 2013, when I lost power while driving and my car broke down on the road. I had the master cylinder, alternator, battery, and air mass flow sensor replaced. Picked the car up drove it home and she still felt a little sluggish but I figured the car was cold. Went to have it inspected the next day and my brakes were locked! had it towed back to the shop and he replaced the master cylinder again. Pickedt it up drove it home and the car started shaking at 60 mph again I figured it was cold and made it home. Next day drove it to work, the car went to 50, 40, and then 30 mph and would not go faster than that! I had it towed back to the shop and my mechanic did some research and it appears this is a known issue with 2006 and 2007 models. It starts with the braked cylinder and as long as the brakes don’t get hot it runs fine. Once they get hot the brakes applies itself which forces your car to slow down! this is so dangerous! you basically have to replace you entire brake line and or check all the hoses, brake booster ext. Until you can pinpoint the problem. Is Toyota doing a recall on this?.
All four tire wheel hubs are rusting out. This could create a hazard. Manufacturer should correct wheel hub defect at no cost to customer.
While trying to make a turn to take an exit to ramp, I applied brakes to slow down and take the curve but the vehicle accelerated and while controlling it I pressed on emergency brakes and brought car to sudden stop but also hit the curve on the side of the hwy. This is an ongoing issue with Toyota and had happened twice before.
I was parked in a parking garage with the car running I was speaking on the phone via the vehicles bluetooth. Upon ending the call I exited the car to ensure it was parked properly between the lines and close enough to the wall in front of the parking space. I then retrieved my laptop bag, coat and hat from the drivers side backseat. I put my coat on closed it up, put on my hat and extended the arm on my laptop bag. I then closed the back door and turned to retrieve items from the front seat and turn off the vehicle. As I turned to return to return to the front seat door the car flew out of the parking space. As the car passed me and the car beside me the front door swung completely open. I ran and chased the car for fear it might hit someone and also assuming I did not place the car in park. Upon jumping into the moving car the first thing that hit me was the bright "p" lit up on the dash indicating the car was already in park. I attempted to apply the breaks and also constantly pushing the gear up. Finally both my actions and the cars acceleration were stopped by the slamming of the car into a cement wall. While I have no recollection of the actual impact the visible signs upon my body were a large red knot over my right eye as well as scraped and bloody knees. After finally turning the car off the car failed to start up again. The incident was reported by my husband to the car manufacturer the day of the incident and while they provided us with a 60 day maximum timeframe the time has lapsed and we still have heard nothing from the manufacturer. Note: mileage is approximate.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that all of the wheels on the vehicle were rusted and exhibited orange flaky build up. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the dealer advised that the wheels were not unsafe and no repairs were performed. The contact believed the vehicle was unsafe to drive with the rusted wheels. The failure mileage was 21,471. Updated 08/22/lj.
Rusting wheels on 2007 Toyota Camry.
Within the first and second year from the purchase date , rear wheel bearings failed and the dealer changed it, because it was still under warranty. Again 2011 August the front wheel bearing failed , I had to replace with 50 % cost covered by the dealer. Now Feb 2012 passenger side bearing failed along with the instrument panel switch. Parts in this car have been failing pretty fast then expected. This is the worst kind of failure in wheel bearings for a sedan.
This is not an incident. It's an ongoing problem. All four wheels began to rust when the vehicle had about 20,000 miles on it. The rust is occurring on the sections of the wheels that aren't covered by the hub cap, in other words the exposed-to-the- elements part of the wheel. Recently it was recommended to me that I replace all 4 wheels because the rust, as it's gotten steadily worse, will likely affect the structural integrity of the wheels and could create a serious safety concern when the car is moving.
The steel wheels of our 2007 Toyota Camry are rusting. This vehicle has only been in California since it was new. In our family we own a 2002 Toyota Camry with steel wheels and they are not rusting. This vehicle was even on the east coast for six winters and its wheels are still not rusting. We also own a 1992 Toyota pickup with steel wheels and they are not rusting either even though the vehicle is 19 years old. Toyota's quality standards are failing. The concern is that these steel wheels have weld spots between the part which is bolted to the hub and the part that has the tire installed on it. When the rust gets to the weld spots, the weld spots are going to weaken and will fail causing the vehicle to loose control and injure its occupants and other vehicles/people on the road. A complaint has been filed with Toyota in January 2011 and they refused to fix this problem. A bbb complaint has been filed and again they refused to repair this problem. Since we were having these issues with our Toyota, I have been a lot more aware of other vehicles' wheels around me and noticed a lot of the newer Toyotas with rusted steel wheels driving down the road. This does not appear to be an isolated incident to our Toyota vehicle. The quality of Toyota's wheels has decreased over the years and this is evident just from our family fleet of vehicles built between 1992 and 2007. I hope that you will investigate this matter and be able to help us arrive at a resolution.
Wheel rims have a habit of coming off. I have removed my rims out of concern they will fly off and hit someone else. I have also noticed many other 2007 style Camrys driving around without rims also.
One car accident. Front end shimmy led to an uncontrollable spin in right lane of highway (62-63 mph in a 65 zone, road dry, no sand, ice, water, oil), spun into left guardrail, bounced off and hit right side guardrail head on 45-60 mph. Front/knee airbags did not deploy, seatbelt caught too late, leading to driver (only person in car) hitting head on steering wheel and knee on center console. Injuries include concussion, whiplash, right knee/hip pain/damage, headaches, backaches, dizziness, neck/back soreness, forgetfulness following accident (random short term memory loss). Car totaled (front end destroyed, other damage), problem reported to Toyota. Toyota rep appeared to be trying to blame driver on airbag/seatbelt failures but is sending investigator to check auto. Insurance company has inspected vehicle. Driver not ticketed by police (deemed not at fault for accident).
1. Twice within 1st year: the car accelerated quickly while I was driving on the road; it was hard to stop. I thought the floor mat was under the gas pedal. Later, the car suddenly revved up and accelerated as I was leaving a parking lot. After I took my foot off of the gas, it kept increasing speed. Nothing was in the way of the pedal that time. I was able to gain control. (the service tech told me the experience I relayed to him was not possible. ) still, the car accelerates by itself, most recently three days ago. I had it set at 60 mph on cruise control. It wouldn't stay at 60. I had to decrease the cruise speed 3 or 4 times. I routinely have to manually reduce the cruise control speed by bumping the lever down. I have become used to this malfunction. Toyota employees denied a defect and refused to repair the faulty parts. During the first 18 months, I took my car in approximately 20 times. No repairs were made. 2. Rain enters above the drivers side window. Odi id number:10242104 has been established because of the same complaint on the same make and model. 3. The right front tire had to be replaced twice during the first 6 months I had the car because the tires in that position damaged quickly for no legitimate cause. I had to buy a whole set of tires before the car had 18,000 miles on it because they were wearing so badly that they were unsafe. This coincides with odi id number:10269039 citing the same problems on another 07 solara convertible. 4. The soft top has unraveled in two places above the front windshield at the seam where it is sewn together. Toyotas response has varied from: nothing wrong with it, I must have damaged it, and it isn't covered under warranty. 5. The electronic seat stuck. It was left in a forward position (as if to allow access to the back seat). The tech said the car didn't have power seat functions. I told him I'd paid for one on my itemized bill and I'd been using it. Unrepaired, it resumed working by itself weeks later.
