No complete failure has happened as I chose to not drive the vehicle as I feel it is unsafe. The rear trailing arm body mounts rust to a point that I feel the structural integrity is compromised. At first glance the mount appears intact but after tapping lightly with a small hammer pieces of the mount fall off leaving a large portion of the mount missing. I have attached pictures of the mount before checking the mount and after to show how much of the mount is left. If this mount were to fail it could cause loss of control of the vehicle and a crash.
The doors are powered.
Front (left) driver side spring is broken near the upper sup. . Seems like it broke more because of corrosion than fatigue.
Front struts need replacement, less than 90,000 miles on the car. Very disappointing.
The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the front passenger side spring prematurely fractured and then months later, the front drivers side springs prematurely fractured. An independent mechanic repaired the vehicle for the failure that happened twice, on each side in the front. It was mentioned that the metal material might not be structurally sound. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,902.
I bought this Camry 08 last year at 43000 miles on it, when I drive it on the freeway or city road , the front end was bounce exessively and not really stable. After I do the inspection and check the strut, the front right strut need replacement (it's bouncing a lot when I push it down and release). My complaint is why it fail for only 45000 miles?. Is this suppose to be a recall for replacement?. Because it involve safety driving. And I read, there 30 complaints already about this suspension.
The right front spring failed. It snapped close to one end, leaving a jagged point. My mechanic said that this could be disastrous if this jagged point came in contact with the tire, especially at highway speed. I contacted Toyota customer service and was told that since the car was out of warranty, they would not help me with any repair. A failure to a part such as this is either a defect, or a gross engineering error.
Turn corer and hear big "clunk" and later find a piece fall off my vehicle - stop and find out that it is part of the coil spring. I bring the broken off part into local Toyota dealer and the "service specialist" at the corwin Toyota dealer said - "let me guess, Camry. . . " I asked why she said Camry- she told me that they only have had issues with Camry coil springs and no other vehicles have had this issue. I asked if there was any warranty or recall on the item and she said "no". My car has only 77,000 miles on it and this is one thing that should not be breaking on a newer car. I would understand it if I were driving through fields / crap roads but I am not. The fact that the lady at the Toyota dealer said that Camry vehicles are the only vehicles that they experience this issues with is also a "red flag" to me! is it another thing that Toyota is aware of (this dealership is aware by the sounds of it) and is ignoring the problem or is it an issue that has yet to be brought up to corporate mechanics/safety specialists. . .
I took my 2008 Toyota Camry to wal-mart just to have tire rotated, on 7-2-2013 I was told the tires on the rear were really bad rounded off with bumps on tires, I was told that the rear suspension was bad, and that had caused the belts to brake inside my tires. I had taken my car to scott Toyota in jasper al 1 year before this and had it alignment. I still have my paperwork. I have notice something wrong with the way it handled for a long time. Also the sunroof has leaked like a waterfall ever since I bought it. But Toyota says it's not there problem. Tt has cost me 4 knew tires and now a full alignment and a rear suspension to be done at a Toyota place. I just hope this car does not cause me to have a accident from the messed up suspension !.

4 tires worn out about 28000 miles. I had to replace them this is because of suspension system problem that wears out the tires very fast. Having wheel alignment does not solve the problem. I have aligned the wheels and still have wearing problem with new tires. I believe that Toyota should fix this problem and compensate the loss.
The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while attempting to decelerate from 40 mph, a noise was heard coming from under the hood and the transmission jerked. The contact also stated that the front struts were leaking oil. An authorized dealer was notified and the contact was informed that there was not a failure within the struts and the jerk in the transmission was due to the way he was driving. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,200.
Front bumper is too low to road, which causes bumper cover to come into contact with parking space tire stops, which then pops bumper cover loose from holding clips, which causes bumper cover to flap, drag, or come off when going down road. This has happened twice within 8 months.
Started hearing noise for rear of vehicle. At 58,000 it was evident that there was a problem as the noise became louder and the vehicle just did not handle/drive properly. Took vehicle to local Toyota dealership where I have all work done in past. They advised the rear tires were cupping, and that all four of the vehicles struts were leaking to the point they must be replaced. I have never ever had to replace a strut on a newer vehicle no less all four of them. I believe that there has to have been a manufacturing defect in these struts for all four to fail around the 50,000 mile range. I also believe this could lead to a safety issue and it should be investigated by the NHTSA.

The dealer stated that only the front struts needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 44,000 and the current mileage was 72,000. Updated 06/02/11.
