The drivers side visor will not stay up. Very dangerous. My husband is taller and it affects his range ov vision and plus it is annoying. Looked online and see that there have been problems with the visors. I am taking it to a dealer to see if its covered under my warranty, if not, I will contact Toyota directly to correct this very dangerous situation.
After 95,000 miles of usage the sun visor has decided to come apart and I'm no longer able to use it to block the sun or store it in a safe manner. Every passing day it seems the visor gets lower and lower until I can no longer see the road correctly. I almost have to drive holding the sun visor up. It doesn't feel safe but I don't yet have the funds to replace it. And even if I did replace it, it's only a matter of time before it happens again from what I've been reading.
The sun visor on the passenger side will no longer stay in place. It now dangles and blocks the view of the driver.
My car is 2008 Toyota Camry le 4 cylinder. When I drive this car, the sunvisor not so good condition, loose and difficult fix it. Finally it was broken when I return it normal place. It's could not fit anymore. It was very dangerous situation at that time because I couldn't see due to sunvisor drop.
Driver side sun visor will not stay up because I think the clips broke, I understand that this has happened on many other Toyota Camry cars.
Driving down the road and the sun visor flopped down. Will not stay in the up position.
The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the front passenger's sun visor would not hold in the upward position. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer stated that they needed to replace a clip to hold the visor in place. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure and current mileages were 79,000. . . . Both sun visors gave way in my fairly new Camry only after 3-4 years of use. I keep my Toyotas 6 years usually and never had this issue. Visor has always sounded like it was going to break ever since I owned it. Cheap part.
The sun visor for the driver and passenger became loose at no fault to the consumers and it won't stay up. When my car was in warranty the dealer "fix" the problem but it broke again. This is extremely dangerous as it blocks my view because the sun visor keeps propping back down. When I ask the dealer to fix it again, they wanted 120 dollars to fix each sun visor! reading other people complaints, it seems all the model of Camry from 2007- 2011 have the same problems. . . Yet no fix from Toyota. Toyota quality= declining. It seems like Toyota and the dealership is making money off of defects and refusal to commit to quality control to sun visor. Reminds me and others of the "unintentional" acceleration that Toyota refused to acknowledges that led to deaths and injury until the c. E. O of Toyota got questioned by congress. Only then, Toyota acknowledges the problem. In that case the acceleration would become "stuck" causing the car to accelerates. Last car I would buy from Toyota until the problem is fixed free of charges to all customers. Honda, Hyundai, Ford, gm anyone?.
Both of my sun visors have broken on my 2008 Toyota Camry. I have only owned the car for 9 months.
The sun visor had been flopping down a bit for the last couple of few weeks, then it just quit gripping the shaft that keeps it in the "non-use' position -I. E. Visor horizontal parallel to roof - so that it was hanging down perpendicular to the roof plane, blocking vision out the front of the car. It has not stayed up since. Research online has proven to me that this is a widespread problem with these model year (and 2007 model year) Camrys and they do represent a driving hazard, particularly if and when they flop down unexpectedly while in heavy, urban traffic and the like.
Driver side sun visor will not stay up. Dealership wants over $200 to repair. Car only has 36,000 miles on it. It is a safety issue and Toyota should repair for free. There is a defect in the device.
Sun visor broke and would not stay up. Obstructs field of vision. This is the third time a visor has broke on this vehicle and searching online I have found that this is a common complaint with this year and model of vehicle. No undue stress was put on the visor. Discussed with the parts department at Toyota and they admitted that it was a common problem.
The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the driver side visor partially detatched and began to obstruct the view of the driver. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the entire visor was removed. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 51,000. The VIN was not available.
While adjusting the driver's side sun visor the visor broke and would no longer stay up in either position. It just dangled down and severely restricted the driver's vision. There was no way to temporarily fix the visor to make the car safe for the remainder of the trip, and repair necessitated replacing the entire visor at a cost of $140. This is a known problem with Camrys and the repair cost could deter people from replacing the visor, resulting in a dangerous situation, as visibility is very poor with the visor dangling down in front of the driver.
My drivers side sun visor decide to quit working while I was driving and suddenly cover my visibility. I have to stop on the side on the road and try several time to put it back. Finally I frustrated remove and put it on the passenger seat. Toyota should do better job on that because I was about to be involve into an accident.
The clip in my driver side sun visor failed while on the interstate, creating a big safety issue. The visor would no longer stay up because a defective clip by the hinge failed. Toyota refuses to repair the visor at no cost, even for vehicles under warranty. This should be a recall on those models.
My driver side sun visor will not stay up. It's blocking my view and when I googled I see tons of Toyota drivers since 2007 complaining about the same issue. From what I'm reading it's only a matter of time before the passenger one goes as well. Unfortunately, the driver actually needs to see the road and this breaking is a huge safety issue.
The drivers side sun visor is drooping & would not go up or down & stay in place. I would have to hold it to drive. I had to remove it for safety.
The driver side sun visor dropped down all of sudden and it wouldn't stay up and makes the driving difficult. I pulled the car over and removed the sun visor then continued my journey. It is a manufacturing failure, so I suggest this issue be looked into seriously and recalled if necessary as it has a potential to be fatal if it happens.
First the sun visor on the drivers side broke and it wouldn't stay up, which caused a large blind spot right in front of me and it became dangerous to drive my car. I took it into a Toyota dealership, bought a new visor and fixed it. A few weeks later the passenger sun visor broke and it is causing a large blind spot when I am looking for traffic on my left side.
Driver side sun visor dislodged from roof and I tried to put back is just falling back. I am very disappointed from this.
Sunvisor on drivers side will not stay up which causes a visibility issue when driving.
Driver side sun visor would not stay up/closed. Had vehicle repaired. Four months later passenger side sun visor had same problem. There is a vision problem with the visor not being able to be closed. Two sun visor problems within months of each other.
The sun visor has broken from it's mount under light usage.
The drivers side sun visor will not stay up, impairing visibility. I have been swinging it over to the driver window. This must be a design/quality problem that surely Toyota can correct and replace without cost to the owners. I would like to repair it myself for now until a possible recall could be enacted.
Letter to the administrator from congressman israel on behalf of one of his constituents regarding the safety of the 2008 Toyota Camry the consumer stated the sun visors on the driver and passenger side were manufactured with defective parts. The inadequate design caused the sun visor to fall down at random times with the inability to secure it back in to place.
Driver side sun visor keeps dropping down. Safety hazard since it obstructs view of the road.
The driver's side sun visor mount has broken and it will not stay up. It seriously affect the visibility of the raod when the visor falls at random times.
I was driving my car and put the sun visor down. When I tried to put it back up after the sun wasn't in my eyes, it wouldn't go up. After that, I tried to fix it at home and one day it just fell back down and it won't go back up. It is completely broken and obstructs my view while I am driving. When I called Toyota to try and fix it they said it was no longer under warrantee and I would have to fix it myself. I dont have the money to fix it and when I asked them to clarify that they wouldn't help me out with the fix even though it is dangerous to drive they confirmed and said yes. I also went to the dealership and asked the service manager. When I told him that the Camry has had a lot of problems with the sun visors breaking he said yeah they do but as of right now there is no recall on them so there is nothing they can do to help people get them fixed.

The driver's side sun visor will not stay up or down making it a safety issue while driving. It cannot be moved out of your line of vision short of removing the entire visor. This should be made into a recall issue due to the unsafeness.
Driver's side sun visor failed. It will not remain in the up position nor any other. . . . . Except hanging straight down. This is a tremendous safety hazard!!! after doing some research on the internet, I am finding this to be a very common issue. It is also happening to the passenger's visor. I have not contacted the dealer. This should be a recall by Toyota immediately.
