At 146,137 miles the engine has suddenly begun to consume oil, having lost in excess of 3 quarts in less than 5,000 miles with no evidence of leaks (staining, drips) observed where car is parked.
Car has about 161,000 miles, after around 150,000 miles the engine consumes almost all oil in a week or two. I have to constantly change oil all the time. No oil leaks anywhere.
My dash is melting. I've never received a recall. It's chipping off and I was told the recall expired. How am I supposed to get it fixed if never a recall. Also my engine has been leaking oil and I've had it serviced properly and in a timely fashion the entire time I've had it. It's the seals that keep leaking. Ive never received any recall information on my Toyota. Ever. So I'm not very satisfied with the notification process. Im attaching pictures of my dash.
I was not told by either Toyota or Toyota of tampa bay that there was an oil leak problem. I never received a notice in the mail. When I took my car in for service because of a burning smell, I was told to bring it back after driving for a 1,000 miles. I didn't - my error, but I wasn't told there was a warrenty or any kind of major issue. When I did go back, they ran the test again, telling me I'd get a new engine if there was a problem. When I did come back, the story changed to a rebuild engine. Then, when the service rep came to tell me the issue, he said my car had the issue, but the warranty had expired. My car, a 2009, has 67,000 miles on it.
The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry. While driving 10 mph, the check engine and oil leak warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (bennett Toyota located at 1951 lehigh st, allentown, PA 18103; (610) 437-6711), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 68,000.
Excessive oil usage. The vehicle has no apparent leaks, but consumes massive amounts of oil. I did not have a problem with the oil consumtion until over 150,000 miles.
My 2009 Toyota Camry is consuming an excessive amount of oil. During my last regular oil change, the dip stick was dry. I asked the technician to ensure there were no leaks and everything was tight and he assured me it was. I began googling the issue and learned this is a common problem with my year/make/model. It is consuming oil at an alarming rate.
Engine oil dries up after some days after oil change without any leak or anything. It is happening so many times that I made sure and checked engine oil and after 20 30 days there will be no oil in engine and the engine warning do not come on. There is no leak uder the car. I made sure by putting cardboard under car so if ther is drip I can see . I checked with so many mechanics last 3 years no one knows why this is happening.
My oil light blinked once on my way home. I checked the oil the next morning before starting the car and it showed no oil on the dipstick! we added 4 1/2 qts of oil. I had never been so much as a 1/2 qt low at oil change. There are no leaks. The oil light never stayed on as a warning. My motor could have conceivably burned up without my knowing there was anything wrong. My 5 year old vehicle is now using at least 1/2 - 1 qts of oil every 1200 miles. We have a 1999 Toyota Camry with 245,000 miles that only uses approx. 1/2 qt oil per 3,000 miles. After researching on the internet, I can see that mine is not a singular event. Toyota should be made to fix the problem.
I have to put a quart of oil in it every 900-1000 miles (5 quarts between changes which occur at 5k). It's not leaking (I park in same spot daily, it's being consumed in the engine, and I've recently heard of a recall and have rec'd info. At my home from Toyota about a potential recall).
Engine oil leak in 2009 Camry le 4 cylinder. This car hds a rear main seal replaced at 30k miles and the lekd returned. Then had a short block replaced at 34k miles. Leak returned w/I 277 miles of short black replacement. Filing arbitration. Vehicle still leaking and engine oil leak is very obvious.
