As I was driving, all of the lights (oil, brake, abs, check engine) all of it came on at the same time and made a noise and the car shut down , while I was driving. I am a college student with a commute, and thank god I was near a neighborhood to pull over immediately. I tried waiting 10 minute to restart, and it would not even start because the whole thing was dead and the lights were on. This nearly killed me. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated tat while driving 60 mph, there was a loud screeching noise from the engine area as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who performed a diagnostic and advised that they could not detect any failure codes nor could the failure be duplicated. The failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was notified of the issue by mail but there was no response. The failure mileage was 1,500.
I was driving at 60 mph on highway but suddenly the engine revved all the way to 7000 rpm and the car jerked violently. I put my foot off the accelerator but the engine still stays at 5000 rpm and doesn't go back down to normal. Had to pull over to the shoulder with emergency light on. Tried to get back on the highway but at 35 to 40 mph, the engine made loud revving noise and the rpm jumped to 7000 again. Had to pull over again and call for a tow truck.
