Toyota Camry se 2013 when accelerating at a stop light or when slowing down to make a turn, it hesitates when stepping on it to go or when accelerating at a turn,. It will go about 5 - 10 feet and hesitate, it happens more several times in one day! it scares me and I’m worried about getting into an accident. No check engine light and does not throw any codes.
The panel that controls the interior lights, garage door operation, moon window and an sos button appeared to have an electrical malfunction and part of that control panel which is on the ceiling between the moon window and mirror melted due a heat source. I do not know what caused the problem but took the vehicle to a dealer and they would not advise on what made the plastic melt. In my opinion that could have caused a fire as the vehicle is in the garage when not in use.
Having issues with the ac condenser drain hose. And transmission shuddering during acceleration.

I am the owner of 2013 Toyota Camry se VIN# 4t1bf1fkxdu279537. My vehicle shudders when I drive over 25 mph. On 19 April 2022 I took my 2013 Toyota Camry se to the glen Toyota dealership. After the diagnosis the representative stated that I needed a new torque converter. The cost would be $2902. 30 to repair. After further investigation I discovered Toyota offered the torque replacement at no charge under the Toyota enhancement warranty program. Under the extended repair program the torque converter was replaced at no charge for 8 years or 150,000 miles. My vehicle is currently under 150,000 miles and the 8 year mark occurred during covid19 when businesses were shut down. The service adviser told me the dealership would not cover the repair. Under a normal situation this would be acceptable. Due to unusual circumstances related to covid19, I am requesting that my vehicle's torque converter be replaced at no cost to me. I have uploaded the document to the Toyota warranty enhancement program that explains the shudder while driving under light throttle conditions between approximately 25 – 50 mph. Also included is the service recommendation from the glen Toyota dealership that shows the seriousness of this repair. I do not fell safe driving this vehicle until the torque converter is replaced. Thank you.
My car has a vibration on the front end. I have taking it for alignments, tire balancing none of those is the issue. We check for cb joints, wheel bearing not the issue. Someone made a statement of the same issue I am having with my car saying that it’s a class action lawsuit out take it to a transmission shop get it fix and submit invoice to get reimbursed.
Faulty torque converter and engine control module software glitch - TSB-nosb0034-14r2 original owner never notified about the Toyota service bulletin. I purchased car from Toyota dealer who knew of problem but it did not happen during test drive and I then the day I drove it home, it started happening. I took it back and they wanted an additional $2400 to repair what should have been repaired on a recall. I have read many many complaints about this same issue with many 2012 and 2013 Camry's and I believe that this should have been recalled!!!!!!.
Torque converter problem while in motion it's causing: slipping overheating contaminated transmission fluid shuddering increased stall speed unusual sounds.
Cannot buy a future new car since they are keyless! both of us are profound hard of hearing and cannot hear engine running in garage !.
Vehicle hesitates when accelerating. Shortly after starting my car, my car will hesitate to accelerate at around 20 mph. It will not shift into gear and even if I push the gas pedal to the floor, it still will not go. I have to take my foot off the pedal and push it repeatedly to get it to go. Finally it will catch up and do so viciously. I have had this happen to me while pulling out onto the highway and almost got rear ended. I have a 14 month old daughter who rides in the backseat and I feel so unsafe. I have taken it to the dealership and to one other mechanic and they cannot duplicate the issue nor are any codes being thrown. Please recall this vehicle. Also, this happens a lot when going at a steep incline.
The car stutters really bad at low speeds, I went to the dealership and they said I was outside of warranty by two weeks but it was the torque converter, I have been having this problem off and on for years but thought it was something small because it wouldn't last long, however for the past 3 months or so it has gotten progressively worse and does it every time, we thought we would have to pay for a diagnostics which is over $100 which is why we didn't take it sooner, however the day that we took it they said it was out of warranty by 2 weeks and when we called Toyota they would not take responsibility for it even though this is a known issue with my year make and model Toyota, just asking for help getting this hazardous and safety issue recalled.
While my car was sitting in my driveway, my sunroof exploded. If I had been driving, this would have been very dangerous. The evening before I heard a "pop". That night, I could not locate the source. The next morning, I realized my sunroof had shattered. I contacted Toyota. They took a report, but I don't think they took me seriously.
My family and I heard something like a gunshot that sounded like it was very close to our house. We were too afraid to go outside or look out the windows. Because my car wasn't being driven much at the time, a day or 2 later I discovered my sunroof had exploded while the car was sitting in the driveway. That explained the sound we heard previously.
On April 1, 2019, when getting into my car on the driver's side, in my driveway and my granddaughter getting in on the passenger side, she shut the door. The sound I heard when she shut the door I had never heard before. It sounded like she had maybe grazed an empty plastic water bottle as she shut the door. I didnt think much about it again until approximately 3 miles later when we stopped at a convenience store. I heard that same noise when she got out and she the door. I opened the door myself, listened carefully and realized I had a hole in the glass of my sunroof the size of a golf ball. Not only that but visibly I could see every inch of my sunroof was shattered. Very puzzled, I exhasted all the possibilities of how this could have happened and come up with nothing. I called my insurance company and couldn't give them an explanation on how this happened. After reading an article online, I realize that my sunroof had exploded while (thank god) my car was sitting in the driveway.

On April 1, 2019, when entering my vehicle in the driveway, along with my granddaughter who got in on the passenger side, she closed the door. I heard a sound I never heard before. It sounded like an empty plastic water bottle was grazed as she shut the door. I didn't think much about it until approximately 3 miles later when we stopped at a convenience store. I heard the same sound as she got out and shut the door. From the drivers' side I opened and shut the door again. Listening carefully, I heard the same sound and realized the sound from coming from above my head. I slid open the sunroof shade and couldn't believe what I saw. There was a hole in the glass of my sunroof the size of a golf ball. Not only that, but what was most astounding was every inch of the sunroof glass was shattered. Very puzzled, I exhausted all possibilities of how this could have happened, (which weren't many) and came up with nothing. Not knowing at the time there was an issue with exploding sunroofs, I called my insurance company and couldn't give them an explanation of how this happened. My deductible was $500, so the insurance company could not help because they assessed the damage as costing on around $282. A few weeks later, I was forced to try to get the sunroof repaired because the interior of my vehicle was being damaged because of the rain, I searched the internet for someone to do the repair. This is when I came across several articles on exploding sunroofs. That was the only explanation that made sense of why my sunroof was broken and why every inch of the sunroof was shattered. My car was last driven that Sunday evening. No unknown sounds were heard as the doors were opened and shut. The sunroof had to have exploded while in the driveway, sometime after the car was last driven Sunday evening and when I and my granddaughter got back in Monday morning at approximately 6:30am.
The 2012-2014 Toyota Camry u760 atm ecm software update recall refers to a shudder that can potentially happen in these Toyota models made during these years. The shudder comes from the transmission, especially during the acceleration of the Camry models.
I am sending this msg in regards to my 2013 Toyota Camry se that I leased and decided to purchase after the lease ended from Toyota heritage in catonsville. I am experiencing problems with my torque converter. This is an issue that Toyota knew that would happen to my car and now that I am experiencing this problem Toyota doesn’t feel that they are responsible for the fix since the warranty has expired. I notice this problem in February 2019 when driving to work every morning at the same spot it felt like I was driving on the edge of the road. I figured it was road damage, because it would happen at the same spot every morning curve in the road. On March 16, 2019 due to covid-19 we were sent home to work from home until Feb 2022. I wasn’t driving my car much due to covid. We are now back in the office 1 day a week. In July 2022, I had my brakes done by a licensed mechanic and I informed him about the issue I was experiencing and he told me it was my torque converter, his mother has the same issue with her 2013 Camry and Toyota is aware of the problem and not paying for the repair l. In oct or Nov, I took my car to heritage Toyota in om for my usual maintenance and I informed the advisor of the issue and he stated it’s my torque converter and the warranty has expired and I will be responsible for the $2000 repair. I never received the letter they claimed was sent and no one can send me proof of the letter that they was sent to me. I can’t understand how Toyota is not responsible for this problem they knew would eventually would happen and when asked why didn’t they fixed it when I was bringing my car in for maintenance I was told because I did not report there was a problem. I told the advisor it wasn’t a problem then, I am experiencing the problem now. He didn’t have an answer. I even called Toyota corp and getting the same reply. I am now thinking my transmission is going up due to this issue. Please help me!! thank you.
I have a 2013 Toyota Camry xle. That smells like rotten eggs when you press gas paddle. The smell comes out the exhaust pipe. Vehicles that drive behind the car smell it, to the point they back off as far as they can get. There are any warning lights coming on the dash indicating somethings wrong. I've taken the car to the Toyota dealership three times and 2-Toyota automotive shops. Everyone states that because the check engine light isn't on they can't tell where the smell or problem is coming from. I've switched gas from regular to midgrade & from midgrade to premium. I've had an fuel injection & fuel induction, radiators flush and nothing helped. This is my 4th Camry and will be the last. I don't know if its the eco or because it's and xle. But its terrible. 😢.
2013 Toyota Camry se 2. 5l roof overhead console melted in a non extreme temperature. Unsatisfactory plastic used for lighting console. The case melted and exposed a circuit board. Could be a potential fire and road hazard.
Unexpected acceleration on January 30, 2017, at 7:50 am, my car experienced ua in my office parking lot at 4917 waters edge drive, raleigh, nc 27606 while backing into a parking space. My car increased speed, knocking down a wooden retaining wall and attempting to climb a hill. I then after several attempts was able to placed the car in drive only to have it shoot across the parking lot, t-boning a car entering and knocking it on the sidewalk while I continued onto the yard. I was finally able to placed car in drive and the motor continued to rev until after several attempts was able to shut it down. Of note, none of my car's airbags deployed. However, the other vehicle's both side passenger air bags deployed. I went on line and reported my problem to Toyota with pictures and police report the next day. They asked for a written consent to allow them to get the data recorder. After numerous calls to follow-up, on may 12 I received a response that when they drove the vehicle everything was fine.
My car would stall and come to a stop unpredictably. It has happened when the car was in motion at low speeds and during turns. The car would stall and come to a stop. Sometimes it can be started after you shut down the engine, sometimes you have to try a couple times in order to start again. Toyota dealership was able to test and find stalling history but was not able to find to problem. They said they would test drive and try to duplicate the problem. After 2 weeks, they said they couldn't duplicate it and couldn't work on it any further and told me to take the car back. After taking the car back, 2 days later it stalled again and it was brought into another Toyota dealership.
Bought this used Toyota Camry se 2013 yesterday with only 30,000 miles on it. Right away, I heard creaking noise coming from the center of the dashboard and by the front passenger side. It's not very loud but can be heard and very annoying. It's audible when car is in motion especially when stepping on the gas, brakes and when turning. Not normal for a 3 year old to have this intermittent and annoying creaking sound. I immediately researched on it and to my shock, there's a lot of blogs and posted videos on this same exact issue of creaking sound by the dashboard and front passenger seat for most vehicles of Toyota regardless of model and dominant on those manufactured since 2013. Toyota should have a fix on this since this is a three year old issue.
Shuddering when hitting 2nd gear.
When accelerating from a stop the vehicle will sometimes move about 10 feet and then hesitate for about 1 to 2 seconds. It will then accelerate normally. This happens all the time. The intermittent hesitation is very dangerous when trying to cross a busy intersection when the cross traffic is uncontrolled. This condition is dangerous and not normal. This is my family car and I use it transport my twin 9 year old daughter and scared this condition is going to cause an accident as it has already almost has as I was crossing an intersection it stalled and I was almost hit by oncoming cars. I love the car but I am scared for my family's life when using the car. It happens every time I drive the vehicle.
Purchased new Camry in June 2013 and when the ac is on there is a mold and mildew smell that comes from the unit. Sometimes it makes me cough and it irirates my eyes. The dealership said Toyota knows about the problem but has not found a fix for it so they will simply deodorize the system ever now and then. Last deodorizing was augustaugust 2014 but today the dealership said they don't know what I'm talking about. The smell is horrible everytime the car is started and the ac is on then after a while the smells decreases. I read there is a class action lawsuit for this so Toyota definitely knows about this embarrassing odor.
I was drove the car for shopping 25 miles away from home at 9:00 am. At 11:50 am, on the way back, the back shook slightly and made small noises that were unfamiliar. I checked to see if the shift gear was set correctly and windows were closed, which they were. There was no unusual blinking of driver panel light indicating any type of warning. When I arrived at the drive way at 12:30pm, turning into the front of the house as usual, the car suddenly accelerated and my car ran into the garage door and side of the house.
My 2013 Toyota Camry se, behaves this way almost every day. The accelerator hesitates/vibrates when I step on the gas, when the vehicle is picking up speed between 35 to 45 mph. It usually happens when am picking up from a complete stop, either at a stop sign or when the vehicle was parked for a while. I also notice it happens only when the speed is picking up from a complete stop. It may delay for 1-2 seconds intermittently but stops once it 50 mph or more.
Car has only 17000 miles. Terrible odor from the a/c and heating vents. Dealer recommends a cleaner and filter change costing me 140. 00 dollars. Why is this smell happening? is it mold? very unhealthy.
Trunk lid wont hold up. It easily collapses if car is parked on the slightest of incline or is hit with a slight breeze. The trunk has collapses on my head several times while unloading groceries. My concern is the trunk lid closing on a toddler. My other two Camrys, year 2001 and 2003, do not have that problem. Those older Camrys seem to have stronger torsion bars and/or hinges and/or holding mechanisms. Toyota dealership tells me they found nothing wrong with the trunk lid and its mechanism.
My 2013 Camry is exhibiting a brief, intermittent transmission shudder while driving under light loads between 25 and 50 mph. This is due to a combination of an engine control module software glitch and a faulty torque converter. After the dealer from richmond hill toyoto in ontario canada replaced the part on oct 2016. The issue happened again after 2 couple of months.
On November 25, 2014 my mother was killed when her 2013 keyless ignition Toyota Camry rolled down her driveway and pinned her underneath. She had just driven into her garage and neglected to put the car in park. The garage had a very slight incline, but the driveway was much steeper. She had walked down the driveway to pick up a newspaper after putting the car in the garage. I just saw an article saying that a park it act had been introduced into congress. I would like to be sure that my mother is included in the statistics of people who have died because of rollaway car accidents. Please let me know if there is another method I should use to do this. Your agency was cited in the article I read. That's why I am contacting you. Thank you.

On several occasions over the last month I have noticed the car stalls when you attempt to drive in reverse. Most recently it did the same thing while the car was in drive. Scheduled for car to go to dealer 8/29/14.
