The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who stated that Toyota had chronic failures with the vehicles and that the rod assemblies needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that the fracture was due to the contact's upkeep of the trunk; however, the contact stated that he rarely used the trunk. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
