When backing up and applying the brakes there's a loud clunking, most noticeable coming from the left front wheel. I've been told the noise could be the wrong brake pads were installed, or possibly the installation of the pads wasn't done correctly by the technician, causing the pads to not be locked into place on the brake caliber. Have not been back to the dealer to date I bought the vehicle used so with 32k, it has 36k, still have all the extended warranty I bought with the vehicle so will see how much consideration I'm given.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Toyota Camry. While driving and reversing the vehicle, the contact heard an abnormal clunking noise when the brake pedal was depressed. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to riverhead Toyota (655 old country rd, riverhead, NY 11901, (631) 727-7722) where it was diagnosed that the brake pads were shifting. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the brake pads were the incorrect size. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 1904020578. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 22,415.
