I have under 30,800 miles. On 02/25/2025 my car was completely dead. I called andy mohr Toyota. I had my car towed in . They said I needed a new battery. Okay I paid got my car back. On 10/16/25 car is completely dead again. I called roadside assistance. My new battery won’t hold a charge. The starter is working and alternator is connected. Inside looks brand new.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request the odometer system of the vehicle has malfunctioned. The odometer reading, which displayed 118,204 miles at the time of purchase, has stopped working entirely and does not record additional mileage. Evidence suggests that the odometer was tampered with or manipulated prior to the sale, as a vehicle history report reveals the car had accumulated 290000 miles before the purchase. The vehicle and odometer are available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the odometer fraud poses a safety risk because it misrepresents the vehicle’s condition. With the mileage inaccurately reduced, the car’s actual wear and tear could lead to unexpected mechanical failures. Components like the engine, transmission, and brakes might have significantly higher usage than I was led to believe, increasing the likelihood of breakdowns or accidents. I was also unable to make informed maintenance decisions due to the fraudulent mileage reading. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, an independent service center confirmed that the odometer is no longer functional and has likely been tampered with. Additionally, a vehicle history report (e. G. , from carfax or autocheck) confirms that the car had significantly higher mileage before it was sold to me. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, but it has been assessed by an independent mechanic. I am in the process of reporting this issue to law enforcement and my state’s department of motor vehicles (dmv). I am prepared to make the car available for further inspection by any relevant authorities.
Toyota 2017. 75000 miles transmission is bad.
Car in reverse and going forward when foot on gas the car will take off at a high speed. Need to hit brakes quick to stop the car. Could cause an accident if other cars are around or pedestrians walking. I nearly hit a building.
Defect in the windshield- lamintaed glass- due internal stress in the inner glass layer, pieces of the glass started falling in my lap as I was driving. Please investigate. Called Toyota customer service group and they failed to understand the safety of this issue. Laminated glass should not separate by having pieces of glass in driver's lap and reating a hole in the upper corner of the windshield.
I have a 2017 Toyota Camry with only 30k miles and the servo motor has gone bad. That's what the dealership told me. I was told by dealership this is a common problem, yet Toyota doesn't have a bulletin for this issue. I am looking on Toyotanation. Com and see it's listed and several other websites. I was told repair cost can be $1,4000 - 4,800. Car has only 30k miles so I am quite surprised that it's needing this costly repair. Furthermore, given the fact that it's a known issue why did Toyota not have a bulletin for this? are they trying to pass this cost onto the consumer?.
The radio in my car flickers when turning the wheel it makes a cranking sound and it’s slow to accelerate.
On 4-15-22 wife started the car and put car into drive. There was a grinding noise and the car went into reverse down my street crashed through some cement barriers and a fence and ended up within 3 inches of a neighbors house. This car's transmission seems to have had problems in this area. Wife was not injured but was evaluated by emts. Did accident report 22-11374. Car was towed to the dealer. Had $11,000 damage on its bottom. It will be sent to the transmission shot of the dealer after accident repairs.
While coasting into a parking space my car accelerated hitting another car.
Air bag has problem since Feb 2017 but no one conatct me to fix that I just knew about it and would like to fix from the manufacture. Big question is it his there since last 3 year and I am still driving the same car omg.
I just see in detail of my car about the recall regarding the air bag and tire but no one contact me from dealer and manufacture. I am totally unaware about it. There is problem with airbag and I am driving this car since last 3 year OH my god. Nothing is happen yet. I just see the detail.
My driver side door lock actuator failed during warranty period Feb, 2019. Now at 37,500 miles which is 1,500 miles over warranty the passenger side door actuator failed. Toyota refuses to acknowledge that they using defective parts or unreliable suppliers. Car is little over 2 years old and in my opinion this is not acceptable. I am downloading original repair document from February, 2019.
The sidewalks of my new tires (under 10k miles) seem to have wear on them. It's as if the tires don't hold up during turns. If my guess is correct, then these tires are very unsafe. They are hankook s1 ventus noble. P215/55r17.
Vehicle has a recurring issue with rattling/ticking sounds when driving on city, highway, and interstate roads over normal road bumps that is coming from the front passengers side door panel/seat belt retractor pillar area. The local Toyota dealer did not want to investigate my issue because they could not replicate the sound even though I had multiple video recordings of the issue. The vehicle has since been in for four separate visits with another local shop to try and resolve the issue. That shop installed a new seat belt retractor and pillar trim along with foam. None of those attempts resolved the issue. $400+ dollars has been wasted trying to fix this problem. I believe it is a quality issue on Toyota's part that needs to be resolved.
About 09-01-2018 when backing up, front breads started making a popping noise, had oil change on 12-06-2018 and brought it the service associate, they had it checked and said it was normal brake pad shift (documented on service record), this noise of popping is not normal for a car with 25000 miles. This vehicle should never have any noise from brake area, if a brake pad shift is normal there should be a fix in place to alliviate the noise.
Takata recall well recently everytime I go in reverse to back out of a driveway or anything and I press the brake, I hear 2 popping or clicking noises. I doubt it has anything to do with the braking system or transmission. Possibly the suspension. No popping noises occur if I'm in drive and I brake. It'll do it whether I'm going in a straight line in reverse and brake, or if I'm turning in reverse and brake.
Sunroof exploded while on the interstate.
While driving on highway 280 southbound at roughly 65 mph in Friday evening traffic, the moonroof on my 2017 Camry exploded spontaneously. It was so loud, I thought I had been shot at. Luckily, the cover was closed or glass would have been everywhere in the car's interior. The glass had exploded outward as there was no damage to the sliding cover at all. I called my insurance company but was unable to get into a shop as it was after 5 pm. The moonroof rails had to be replaced when I initially bought the car last year and so I thought the dealer would have the repair under warrantee. I took it to the dealer on Saturday morning and they admitted that they had seen this problem before and that the repair was not under warrantee. Dennis mcconnell stated that the car was under so much external and internal pressure when sealed up at highway speeds that this failure sometimes happens especially as moonroof and sunroofs being a standard feature on cars today. I ended up paying $1072 for a repair I feel must be a structural issue that should be under recall by Toyota. The car has less than 25k miles. I should not be responsible for the cost of this repair. I am now afraid that this will happen again and drive with the moonroof open on the freeway.
To use the defrost setting in the 2017 Toyota Camry, outside air must be on. I have never had this feature with any other car I owned and it is not like this in the 2018 models. This means when driving in rush hour traffic, you must have outside air on to run the defrosters. This causes exhaust to come in your car. Since I live in houston, TX with high humidity, running the defrosters is a common occurrence. This has caused me to have a headache many times. In 2017, it snowed in houston and to clear the windshield, you had cold outside air coming in.
The body of the side rear view mirrors is blocking a significant area of the driver's view to the right and to the left. The mirrors of average size are part of a body that is excessively large, adding several inches around the area of the mirror. The whole body is installed on a long arm, and blocks the view of the driver towards the right and the left while he/she drives. When turning right or left, I may hit something that I could not see because the mirror blocked it. Pictures attached.
Auto dimming rear view mirror does not dim properly at dusk and dawn and significant glare from rear cars with headlights on causes difficulty driving.
Tl-the contact leased a 2017 Toyota Camry. While driving at low speeds and making left turns ,the accelerator pedal was depressed and traveled to the floor board. Cpsc:the hood of the Toyota Camry le year 2017 model is raised too high in relation to the dash. It should not be sold to people whose height is 5 feet 3 inches or less.
Takara recall when I start ac or hit on my car I feel sick like headaches always.
Unknown part or parts of car. Hesitation on acceleration, feels as though engine dying. Has happened multiple times on streets, highways, turning, going straight. Dangerous at times due to traffic. Started within 4 months of purchase. Reported to the dealer at the 10,000 mile service. Said they could do nothing unless we paid. Seems to be getting more frequent.
