Headlights on low beam have been designed with light/dark zones when focused for the factory specifications. There is little diffusion of light into the upper{dark} zone and objects above three feet or so are not illuminated at 100 feet. I recently passed a pedestrian walking on the road shoulder, and the person was only visible from the waist down. Stop signs are not illuminated, but the poles are. I had the dealer check the lights and was told they were set to the design spec. I contacted Toyota inc. And went through three layers of people to be told that it is as designed and could not be changed. This is a severe safety hazard.
Rental car, headlights focused too low. Almost went through two stop signs in CA as the headlights never shined on the signs. In motion on a 30mph street with many stop signs.
