Power steering very stiff and doesn't return to neutral again. Had happened several weeks ago, went back to normal, but returned yesterday after a car wash. Difficult to correct when in the driveway or on sharp turns after stopping. 49,000 miles on 2018 Camry hybrid le. Will have Toyota reviews at 50k service in a few weeks. Really very disturbing.
While driving the steering wheel became stiff to turn, unpredictable, and wouldn't return to neutral position without effort. Same sense while steering in the driveway. Happened at any speed. The steering issue slowly went back to normal after a week or about 300 miles. I set up an appointment with the Toyota dealer but cancelled when steering improved and will mention it to them again at the 50,000 mile service.
Its really hard to turn.
My steering has become very stiff. Like it is hesitating when I make turns as if my power steering fluid is low but it is electrical. My car also stalls when I accelerate the gas. Mentioned it to dealer when first got the vehicle in 2018 and they said it was just because of the type of engine that was in it. Steering happens when taking off, slowing down, and making any kind of turn or lane change. Engine hesitates when I accelerate. Taking to the dealership to have issue checked out.
The car has become increasingly difficult to steer. Sometimes very difficult to steer left or right. This was initially felt occasionally when driving and is now happening all the time. It feels like issue is related to the steering shaft and steering box. Issues started about two month ago and has been getting worse.
While driving and turning the steering wheel, the steering stiffens up and then releases about every 5 degrees before stiffening up again. This is an electronically controlled power steering.
When trying to steer the car it's hard to turn and when driving it feels like the car is.
Master control light on, not idling, wont start immediately after pumping gas, cuts of randomly when I stop and malfunction warning light for power steering.
The very first and serious problem with this 2018 Camry le is its gas pedal . It is very stiff and hard to press the gas pedal . Due to that it gets so hard to give gas power to engine and due to that car give jerks to pick up the acceleration and start jerking and secondly due to that steering wheel also get really tight and also it makes the shifting of the gear of transmission get stuck. Gas pedal need to be soft, when you press the pedal to give the race or acceleration to car for to change gears automatically from transmission. It is very serious hazard when the gas pedal get stuck and stay stiff very hard.
In August 2918, the vehicle was purchased from mcgeorge Toyota of richmond, virginia. In February 2019,the ac was not cooling. It was found that there were several high pressure leaks. The condenser was replaced in the car and has attempted to be repaired three other times, as two other times the freon was found to be low, and leaks from high pressure lines. After the second repair in March 2019, the wiring was found to be faulty, which in turn heated the vents up so hot, it produced a mild burn on my fingers. While driving, the temperature of the air coming out of the vents was extremely hot, so I turned the blower down and attempted to move the vents in an upright position. Furthermore, the mirror was found to be defective and a piece fell off while driving on the highway in January of 2019. Today, on 10/24/19, the car malfunctioned while in motion and in a stationary position. When this event occurred, it effected power, steering, brakes, air bags and several other major functions. I left for work and noticed my car just seemed to be driving oddly. I pulled off to see what was going on and get coffee. I turned the car off, went into the store. When I came to the vehicle and started it, I put it in reverse and could not turn the wheel. Nearly all of the warning lights came on. I turned the vehicle off and let it sit for several minutes. When I turned the vehicle back on, all of the lights were off and the vehicle was able to move and drive normally. Overall, this vehicle has had several major issues with wiring, electrical, body and has posed a serious threat to my safety. I have contracted the manufacturer several time and several attempts have been made to repair it; however the problems are consistent. The manufacturer demonstrates a lack of accountability for these defects and has been notified of these safety concerns.
When driving theres a tightness in the steering wheel, went to the Toyota dealer to find out whats is wrong in my car and saying that there is internal mechanical failure in the car that they cannot figure it out , the car was only 2 years old and still low mileage in the car and I never experience that kind of issues before. Just wondering its a newer car and already have issues. Toyota last long thats why I choosed to buy it.
For a year and a half, my car has always refused to accelerate on time, often overcompensating and lunging forward, or undergoing a rolling sensation and accelerating. I had the same problem with the steering/tires twice in the past week and today as well. When making a turn and accelerating the car tires skid very loudly and the steering wheel moves on its own to the left and right. I almost went out of my lane because of this. Tires are fine and do not show excessive wear or damage.
While driving the vehicle during clear conditions during a turn on a city street, the steering became heavier. The steering wheel now sticks at multiple points and does not turn back to center without heavy force, it also rattles loudly at higher speeds. The 2018 Camry had approximately 50,000 miles when this issue started to happen.
This vehicle gave me problems from the beginning. To begin, it began breaking me in the middle of the road going about 45-50 mph. This continued to happen and my Toyota dealer told me that I was a liar. I continued to drive the car, unknowing when it would stop me in the middle of traffic again. It then had electrical problems because the dashboard and radio would go black while I was driving; my air conditioner would stop as well. Also, I was driving on an interstate alone with my cruise control on and it kept breaking me and telling me that there was another car in front of me. This continued for about 30 minutes of constant driving (picture below). The last thing that happened to me in this car was that the lane assist would pull me out of my lane and into another when trying to correct between lines. This happened a few times and Toyota would do nothing about it. My mother was driving my car one day about 75 mph on an interstate and it pulled her off the road to the left. This car gave me nothing but trouble since purchasing it brand new. My car started this trouble within 5 months of me owning the vehicle and Toyota provided no assistance. I was very upset and disappointed that I chose this car above others. I hope Toyota will do their job and fix these problems so another Camry driver may not experience what I, unfortunately, had to.
Lane sensors not working. These sensors are supposed to keep you in your lane for safety. I didn't realize I was going over center line because sensor not working. Not having sensors that work could cause a major accident.
Vehicle gas throttle response would hesitate would be a lag of few seconds for vehicle to pick up speed slow throttle response, also I totaled my vehicle due brakes malfunction also vehicle brake assyst did not assyst me in any way or prevented me from accident I was travling 35 to 55mph in traffic stop and go slow lane.
