The vehicle then displayed the message “shift to park before exiting the vehicle”. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who duplicated the failure but was unable to provide a cause for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 30,000.
