When installing my radian80sl with superlatch, I checked for movement at the belt path and the superlatch straps very easily loosened. More than one attempt was made to get an acceptable install using the superlatch, but it loosened each time, leaving more than 1" of movement and an unacceptable install. I do not feel my child would be safely protected by this seat in the event of a car accident. I have been able to get an acceptable install using the seat belt. I am very disappointed in skjp for not issuing a recall on this product, as it is not safe. I have heard numerous other reports of this same problem. Paying over $200 for a car seat to keep my child safe, I do not expect to get a defective and unsafe product. Being able to rf to 45 pounds, rf tether and be able to fit 3 across with this seat are great features but are worthless if the seat isn't safely installed. Unfortunately, there are probably many owners of this seat that are unaware of this problem. Skjp needs to issue a recall! install was in a 2009 Toyota Camry. Child restraint information: radian80sl, model # 18500, dom 11/10, serial # 11100082704327 superlatch information: dom oct2010, lot 0j2 pn ssk-306_sb-08 (related vehicle information: model year=2009, make=Toyota, model=camry).

We had attached a rear-facing infant car seat in the proper position. We got this inspected by the local police back when it was first attached. It was working fine for 8 months. Last week, when my wife braked the car, the base of the car seat detached itself from the latching restraint that kept it in position. The base came crashing towards the driver's seat. Luckily, our baby was not in the car seat. This seems like a defect either in the latching restraint in the 2003 Toyota Camry or a defect in the car seat itself. (related vehicle information: model year=2003, make=Toyota, model=camry).

I have attempted to install the eddie bauer eb adj booster car seat (model 22880-mtta) in 3 different cars and it simply will not tighten into place. It's as if the shape of the car seat is at a 90 degree angle and thus will not fit into the seat of the car. If the base sits flat on the seat of the car, the head sits straight up, leaning forward from the seat of the car about 6 inches. Tightening it with a belt does no good because it continues to wobble back and forth several inches from front to back or even from side to side. Even the latch system does not work because it only pulls the carseat backwards, leaving a gap of several inches between the base and seat of the car. This is an incredibly dangerous design.

Cosco turnabout infant car seat (came with the "rock n' roller stroller) model number 01-654 (if the stroller and car seat have the same numbers) does not fit securely in the car seat. In a side impact crash the seat would become dislodged, as it can slide left and right. I have to pin the seat behind the back of the passenger seat to immobalize it. I have even had a police officer look at it and he took notice it didn't seem too safe.

The extendable foot used to adjust the angle of the century Smart fit plus infant seat has broken during normal use/installation. The plastic guides along which the foot moves up and down have been bent toward the rear of the infant seat base, allowing the foot to collapse and letting the seat-base combo settle to an improper angle. It appears that the act of tightening the seat belts across the base exerted enough pressure to bend the guides. The prduct was a century Smart fit plus, ser. #4529, manufactured 4-21-98. This was discovered by, and is reported here by, officer mark bergin, alexandria va police department child seat safety cordinator, 703-838-4763.
